I am just trying here to explain different ways in which u can check the wear and tear of the bike's piston.

Go upto a speed of around 50 - 60 kmph in the last gear. now apply brakes so that ur speed reduces to aroun 20 - 30 kmph. dont change gears when u do this. now give full throttle and you'll see ur bike stuggle to move forward.

Spotted it at Orion. Appeared like Alba grafix from a distance. So take it easy. The Black+Yellow FZ 16 looked like a local mech's hacked naked bike. The chrome+red combo too looked bland. No match to the first launched mono tones.

P.S: Hoping that this wont spark of an OT upjetting discussion.

              > Listen, do you think the led idea that i mentioned in one of the previous posts will work?? If it will im thinkin of blue leds... I ve a feeling it will but i'm askin cos i jus want to make sure before i do anythin... many bikes put leds under the fuel tank n stuff... Ill jus try n fix them inside the instrument cluster... I think a blue instrument cluster will look bling...

Good to see some activity on the thread...looks like Glady owners are always busy..
Must confess that my experience/knowledge about oils is not much...
Anyways, I have been using only what the SC uses, that is I suppose Yamalube.
I have been told by the service guys last time I went to the SC that Semi-Synthetic Yamahalube is out..if I remember correctly, costs Rs. 200+.
Planning to use that the next time around.

Touring with the Glady is great..you will really enjoy it...Cruising speed of 70-80 KMPH should be easily acheived, that too without any vibes..you will feel the bike can go much faster than that...
I have not constantly toured, not in the recent past anyways, but about 1 year ago, I did do some touring...70-80 KM rides one way, for work purposes..and even a long one about 160 KM one way...that was really fun...and on the way back I had a kind of top speed race with a Glamour...open highway, empty and good road, Glady and Glamour, both full throttle...our Glady just zipped past...her top speed is much higher....it felt great..

Oh thats good news... Will surely go try out the Yamalube semi synth for my next service... Sadly eventhough my bike is under warranty i cannot service it in a yamaha sc... Too far away from my house... N i cant get transport back home easily... So i'm doing everything i can to see to that the bike is in good shape.. Thus asked about oils...

Yup... the bike feels great at speeds of 70-80... stable... and grounded...
Even above 80 the handlin is good... Feels like i can keep on pusing it... have managed to 106 on an empty road in bangalore... there were no vibes watsoever...

I'm thinkin of takin the gladi for a ride this summer... Goin to get my holidays soon... So any suggestions of places close to bangalore is welcome... I'm not lookin to take it to far as it is my first tour on the gladi.. So a 100km ride would be a good starter i think... So guys post in your suggestions...

N the gladi and glamour race... I think no other 125cc bike can compete with gladi when it comes to high speeds... most other 125cc bikes tend to vibrate... its not just how fast the bike can go.. But how well( in terms of (handling, stability, braking) the bike does the speed.. and how comfident the rider feels when going at high speeds... I thinks the gladi scores the highest when it comes to tht in the 125cc segment...

thanks DASCO for your insight... Keep Postin

Its not the case yaar ----- Ive riden my Flame for many Highway rides and at a Constant speed of over and above 90 No vibrations of whatsoever

Ive reached 109 with a pillion - i too crosschecked with GPRS and the speedo shows exact Figures

Gladi is a Good Bike - but in case of the Modern Trends all the bikes 100cc, 125cc any engine category are undergone multiple R&D tests so they prooves effective in all situations..........

I do not agree with u entirely... i agree bikes like the gladi, flame, and stunner are effective in all situations, they ve undergone tests to do so.. but there are lot of 125cc and 100cc bikes who are not effective in highway situations.. not because those bikes aren good... but because they are a wired and tuned to do well in city conditions... as they are purely commuter-city based bikes...
