SS125 is not supposed to vibe. There must be something wrong. Check the following:
    1. Check the spark plug(if necessary, change it - preferably with Bosch).
    2. Check the air-fuel ratio.
    3. Did you change the engine oil? If not, change with Yamalube.
    4. Check the tappet and wheel alignment.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. I presume this is because of the bent forks than the bent alloys. I checked swinging the wheels and there are minimal bends. But, when I try to climb the bike in a steep (like while parking the bike by climbing a steep) there is a sound from the front which indicates the fork bend I believe.

is it advisable to change to Hero Passion xPro's alloys incase of alloy change? will it be a direct fit just because of the tyre size matches?

    Please advise.

I had my rear tyre replace with Zapper Q (100/90 - 18) after my rear met with lot of punctures. I have faced one major accident and luckily ended up with scratches and bandages for myself and change of body parts for the bike like engine cowl and rear tail light lens indicators, rear body parts. I am servicing the bike at the Yamaha authorized service centers every 6 months. I have mentioned this wobbling issues for past 3 services before April, 2015 but none gave a prompt reply but charged between 1900 to 2200 Rupees. Recently, I have serviced it on April, 2015 at Bikerz Yamaha, Chromepet, Chennai and asked them the reason for wobbling. The service person explained me clearly that 2 of my rims (alloys) are bent and that's why am having issues while riding and suggested me to take a bend correction in the bike market area near Pudupet in Chennai or replace the alloys itself from Yamaha which will take up to 5K.

After this service, I started noticing other SS125 bikes, most of the bikes which I have seen have bent rear alloys. Is it because the alloy quality or the roads?

I have noticed Hero Passion rims too and for older bikes also the rides are hassle free, ridden my uncle's splendor and friend's passion xpro which are closer to 2 year old and more.

Please suggest on what the problems will be? I need to have hassle free ride. My bike is doing good and haven't let me down till now and love it. Still the engines is smooth and delivers 50+ in general conditions. But, am struggling for more than 6 months because of this wobbling issues and my hands are paining whenever I ride it for some distance.

    1) Can I change my front and rear alloys with the ones of Passion xPro? Will that be a good idea? If not, which spares will suit it better incase of bad alloy quality.
    2) Can I sell my bike (1st bike, so hard to ask this) as it is nearing 25K mark.
    3) Any other ideas or rootcause, fix for the issue are welcome.

Waiting for replies to make a decision.

This mostly happens when there is a problem with the Regulator/Rectifier unit. Get it checked out

Firstly , i am assuming your wiring hareness is a bit messed up as your RR & Stator failed. Get the stator & RR checked.
    2. There is plug that comes out of the engine left side (stator) , a white plug having 4 wires , yellow , white , black & blue i guess. diconnect the plug , clean both sides terminals with petrol & a tooth brush. Apply grease before fixing it back.

3.Now the cable that connects the spark plug & HT coil is to be removed by unscrewing the cable from the Ht coil & sparkplug cap. cut of around 1 cm of the cable from both the ends and fix it back.
    4. There are two pins in HT coil , remove them , clean them and grease them b4 putting it back.

    5. Remove TPS plug from carburator , clean terminals , apply grease and fix back.

By the above process , you are eliminating any failures in the ignition system whatsoever. CDI is not a toy that will fail every now and then and need replacement. I would not suggest anything to be done with the CDI. Just unplug it , clean the plugs & terminals & put it back.

Exactly!! Even my gladiator's chocke cable , though working suddenly started a peculiar behaviour. If i turn the handle bar to the left , engine was dying. I found out choke cable was the issue though still it was working. I got a new choke cable , lubed & greased it properly and fixed it. The problem just vanished.

Shocking that carb was in lathe for a jammed choke . Its as simple as fixing a new spark plug.

i would recommend you to replace the airfilter , not clean it. Simple replace it. Even the spark plug after doing the ignition system cleaning that I suggested above.

Also there are many pipes & breathers in the carb. Not attaching everything properly can be a big issue. Also , as the bike is old , there is a chance of vaccum leak from the hoses of the carb. The hose that connects the carb & airfilter box and also the carb & engine. If possible replace them or atleast apply some kind of sealant at all the joints.

Also the spark plug condition reveals everything about whats going on inside the engine. Remove and check the sparkplug condition. There are various pics 7 charts on google through which you can clearly what story your spark plug is telling. For a quick reference , a black sooty plug means too much fuel or too less air. Reasons can be a jammed choke or a severely choked air filter.

A whitish spark plug means lean mixture in the combustion chamber. That means fuel flow is not proper in the engine. Check carb , needles & fuel hose.

    I hope this helps.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Recently my choke cable stuck and I replaced all possible cables in the bike like throttle cable , choke cable , speedo-meter cable & clutch cable.

Choke cable was in a bad shape.

Also the piston and nut did not match with the old one , hence cleaned and used the old choke piston & nut and everything worked like a charm.

    Old one

New one which did not work

Also removed and cleaned the exterior of the carb. Also noticed some hoses were disconnected. connected everything before fixing the carb back into place.

So thanks for all your suggestion .But i dont think you are gonna believe me if i say i have been trying the suggested things frequently since a very long time.
So here is the latest update. Like i said in my previous post my bikes issue with revving gets solved temporarily once i change sparks. This has happened again. i had changed my sparks in April and all was good. but my bike started acting weird again last week. So i kept it at Yam again last week and told them to fix the issue and not to give back by just changing sparks. But to my surprise they have did the same thing again, Replaced sparks and told me that the spark was having lots of carbon so it wasnt firing properly.

So my question is, isn't this a complain that they should rectify. I mean if too much carbon gets deposited on sparks in less than 45 days , isn't that a problem. But they dont accept this statement

Engine Overhaul of yamaha gladiator 125SS 2008 model

    Hi Friends,
    I own a Yamaha Gladiator 125 SS 2008 Model.
I guess It has completed 1,20,000 KMs (I guess coz, meter has stopped after 55,000 KM)

I was living near Dwarka, New Delhi and working in GK-2 and NOIDA later on.
I used to ride it for around 80 KMs per day during weekdays.
On average it was around 500 KMs per week or 2000 KMs per month.
For past two Years I am living in Noida. So average run for my bike is around 50 KMs per day on weekdays or 1000 KMs (max) monthly.

I get my bike serviced on regular basis from authorized service center only. But for last few months, my bike is consuming more fuel and needs more maintenance.

On last service, the mechanic told me its time to get its engine overhauled. He gave me an estimate of RS. 10,000/- and around RS.12,000/- with parts.
It is a big amount for me. So I went to some local service center and got the estimate. they gave me estimate of Rs. 8,000/- with parts.

So there is around difference of Rs. 4,000/- . Here I have some doubts. like:

    1. What will be difference between overhaul done by Authorized service center and a local service center. (I guess even authorized service center doesn't have such
facility and they have to send the engine outside.)

    2. Will there be any any difference in riding quality?

    3. Will there be any problem for claiming insurance, I any accident happen due to any reason.

    4. Is there any good service center in Delhi/NCR where i can get best engine work for my bike as rs.10,000/- is a big amount for me and i dont want to spend on
    some mediocre service

Kindly reply ASAP as I need to get it serviced by this weekend coz its creating lots of sound and problems.

    Thanks in advance.
    Darshan

This is what the reply from Yamaha was :

We thank you for your mail. This is to inform you that the SS125 Model is a running Model & there is no such update on the discontinuation of the same.

I really don't have a clue why showroom people are not interested in selling/promoting SS125. They don't have a display model as well!

Damn. The saluto looks hidious in the picture. SS any days looks premium. I dont think they would take that step. Though I hope they update the SS now.
