3)With regards to rust, you are screwed . The weather in Kerala is almost like Mumbai i guess. So try to get rid of rust spots from the chrome immediately before they spread. Clean and wipe the chrome parts with water first. Then just apply a bit of vinegar or coca cola on the chrome and scrape them of using aluminium foil. Basically the chrome coating on REs is not thick and no matter how hard you try, the chrome will lose its shine after a few years.Or if you have a second vehicle, do what i do. My RE is smeared with oil and stored indoors for the rainy season from June to September. I use my unicorn during that time.
Hey buddy thnx for the reply. I solved the revving issue with just a wire used to seal the bread plastic. That wire used to get entangle under the headlamp when i used to turn right. I just tied it with the clutch wire and now bingo no issue. I am planing to get antirust applied on the bike during my first service.

One small problem. First morning Starting the bike with choke everyday is it fine ? Bike just doesn't start w/o either choke or some accelerator reving(very few).

There is no problem in using the choke. I use it every time during the winter and rainy seasons. Sometimes the bike refuses to start without applying choke. Only be sure to turn it off when you start moving. I once forgot to turn it off on my unicorn and by 2kms my engine was hot enough to boil eggs

      • Horrible vibrations on left side handlebars on my 2014 model electra 350.

        Hi xBHP,

        Need your help.

I have just completed one year with my Royal Enfield Electra 350. Everything is fine with the bike except the vibrations.
The problem I faced from day one is, heavy vibrations on left side handlebar. I get it checked on almost every service but the service guys just tightened the bolts and said that this is usual with bullets.

But I do not understand how this could be usual, while my cousin's Bullet (he got his bull deliverd only one month before mine) is butter smooth on speed below 80 kmph.

I have not done any major modifications yet but only changed the stock silencer. My left hand starts paining only after halft an hour of riding. The clutch starts hummming as well. The vibrations remain till 80kmphm, above 80kmph the handlebar becomes smooth but then is comes to footpegs.

One more problem is, I have to release full clutch to move the bike while my cousin's bike move only a bit release of clutch. I have asked the RE servise guys for this issue but they say that the clutch will become loose then... like ye jyada hilegi fir...

        M Totally fade off now.

Only because of the handlebar vibration I am deciding to go for Duke 390.

        Would request your suggestions.

        Please help.

        Many Thanks

No wait ... This can't be the reason of changing bike ... I am trying to figure out why the clutch makes noise in my bike as well. Vibration has to do with tuning from my past experience. If you done with warranty than show it to some real mechanic deals with bullets only who should be able solve this. I am waiting to get done with ASc and choose my private mechanic.

Great but please ensure that guy deals in bullets only or else it will get screwed. Let me know if he figures out the clutch problem.

                        • Royal Enfield Electra Front Mudguard problem.

                          Hi Riders,

I own new Royal Enfield Electra and I witnessed an annoying problem with the front mudguard of electra. It being too narrow , during rains or after rains. The Mud and dirt is thrown back towards your legs a lot. More than other bikes and classic does. While going somewhere , I have to wait till the roads are dry.

Any suggestion, if a substitute of the mudguard can be fitted for electra because the nut bolts and hooks are different from electra , in classic or standard 350 ?

You can fit machismo chrome front mudguard onto your Electra .. it is wider & looks bettter then stock mudguard.

also there are stiff mudflaps available which almost blend into the curvature of your mudguard (and aren't exactly a flap either), like those on a car. check if you can fit them on your bike for rainy season.

TBTS come factory fit with these, you can check them out if you see one parked anywhere.
