Why to wait for the service take it to the Svc again and if they don't response accordingly then write directly to the company.

      • Bullet Electra manufacturing defect

        Hello,

I got the delivery of my Bullet electra 10 days back. Right from day 1 there was consistent noise coming from chain.
I have visited showroom twice in past 10 days. There came a shocking revelation yesterday as service adviser informed me that chassis is out.
Chain is rubbing against chassis so extensively that it has left scratch marks on the chassis near swing arm.
I have already mailed RE customer care regarding issue, asking for a total new bike as a replacement.

10 days old bike, 180 KM on odometer & chassis is out ! cant get more frustrating as a rider

Please help me out as how to approach this problem.

Goodness me man chassis is out! there is only one good news though that atleast you didn't waited and wasted time for first free svc and get your bike checked, just ask for bike replacement or full money replacement nothing less from it, as it is terrible manufacturing defect, and if in any way you find that company is not responding, lodge a case in consumer forum court.

Company engineer inspected my bike and came to conclusion that chassis is indeed out. Company is giving a chassis replacement.
I argued for a new motorcycle or refund but totally in vain they are refusing it. They are not even ready to give it in writing.

What do you think , are you satisfied with chassis replacement, only time will tell what other kind of problems might creep up, i think you should lodge a complaint with consumer forum court and ask for complete refund of your money, when someone purchases RE they are not buying a bike they are investing in an old age brand. No problem if they are not giving in writing just lodge a complaint against this thief company.

Lodging a complaint in consumer forum court is not at all that difficult, the only difficult part is the time delay, in most of the metro cities it does take quite a lot of time for the verdict, but if one is prepared for this delay then mostly decision is in the favour of consumer,

                    1. First buy a copy of Consumer protection act.
                    2. Read sec.2 and just check under which section your complaint comes.
                    3. Draft you complaint in simple terms along with the bill of your bike and any service slip.
                    4. File it in 3 originals for the Forum,
                    5. Visit the District forum jurisdriction of your area for the fees.
                    6. Visit this site ncdrc.nic.in for more information.

But first of all you must be prepared in your mind before lodging the complaint, because delays are the part of our judicial system, and because of this delayed justice 99% of the time people don't want to go this way.

Thanks a ton man ! & yeah that's the major concern time delay & headache for managing all those things with your daily routine
I think will prefer a chassis transplant, but again reassembling entire bike in service station this thought is upsetting, are these guys even qualified enough ?

Yeah buddy that's the problem time time and more time, if you want to go for chassis transplant then do go for it, reassembling a motorcycle chassis is entirely differnt from replacing a car chassis, it hasn' t got that much of parts, new chassis should be dead straight, and swing arm should be aligned properly, have the service centre already procured new chassis for your bike or will they order it , if they have already got the new chassis just check the chassis visualy by yourself or take an outside bullet mechanic with you or any friend who is using bullet from a long time , you want to safe and not sorry again. My best wishes are with you. Cheerz.

They are in process of getting approval from company for new chassis. After that they will send the new chassis over to the dealer.
I cant thank you enough mate for your assistance

I also got the handlebar changed to an Yamaha RD 350 replica as the stock handle bar was little to far for me to reach making me bend a little thus leading to lower back ache. but its much better and I feel very comfortable riding the bike.

Hey...how is the lower back pain?
How does the seating feel after change in the handlebar?

Its better; the seating is a lot more commfy as my shoulders are straight and arms parallel to the ground. For all those who are facing any such trouble dont think twice before changing your bike's handle bar...JUST DO IT!
