Can some one tell me if the 2013 electra comes with a OEM dual horn ??
If not i'd have to change it right away on delivery.
And what about the tyre options that we have got ??
are the OEM ones decent enough in grip?
    Or shud I change to 3.5 ?

    Hi Surya,

Did you get your Electra by now? The single horn on the Electra is good enough since you will not intend to scare anyone on the road. I have not had any issues with my Electra horn and it is adequate enough in the crazy Bangalore traffic. Stick on with the OEM tyres till you fell very comfortable with the bike handling. There are very few manufacturers who make 19 inch tyres 3.5 inch wide for the Electra - MRF is the only one which comes up when you search the forums. For normal driving conditions, the OEM tyres are more than adequate in terms of stability and handling. Do post your new ownership review on this forum.

    Enjoy riding the Electra !

        Hi Guys,
I am planning to put at CL350 Tyre+Rims+Hub for my rear suspension. Do you know anyone who might have done this kind of modification and the pros and cons of the same?

          Re: Bullet Electra Twinspark (UCE)

My current bike (Honda Twister) jolts my back every time its driven on bad roads of Mumbai, which is too much since my daily running is 40 kms. I have tried everything, change tyres/suspension/air-pressure etc. After looking at many forum discussions, bullet seems to be the only low backache alternative, and also the most charismatic. I am not a regular tourer, but love to ride, so have done mumbai-adhmedabad, mumbai-malvan on it in a single day, so maybe new bike will see some long distance action of this type. I have narrowed down to Electra 350 TS UCE, as STD 350 doesn't have electric start/front disc brakes, Only thing going for Std350 are that its cheaper and lower waiting periods. I am 5' 8, and weight 75 kg. So is it a good choice? Electra 350 TS UCE. Will be going for test ride and then booking in a weeks time.

              Re: Bullet Electra Twinspark (UCE)

i have been using this bike for a year now clocked 8k kms on it

done a couple of 200 km rides on it and also other short rides

imho 350 cc is not avery great bike as others feel it lacks in a lot of areas (power, braking , too many vibes lacks refinement)

but still the feel of riding a bullet is not something u cant find any other vehicle
and that is the sole reason i love this bike

if any one plans to buy a bullet in my opinion buy only the 500 cc the 350cc is short on power and is troublesome on long rides

Bullet Newbie Question on Engine Oil

i recently acquired a 2002 Electra and i am not happy with engine oil change done by Mechanic.
He used some Car engine oil which was 20w50 and upto specification as mentioned by Manual but bike feels bit hot.

was thinking to use Motul in it but the Mechanic laughed and said engine will seize, even the Shop owner had same attitude .
he said your Bike has Cast Iron engine better use castrol, Motul is for new UCE engines.

i am using Motul for My pulsar and it is Doing excellent job so this Engine will get seize thing sound stupid to me.
Does Castrol has something which Motul hasnt or it is something specific to Old Engines of enfield.
                200NS 25K kms / RE500 7k kms / Electra 30k kms / P150 80K Kms(SOLD) / i10 40k Kms (SOLD) / Tata NEXON 2K Kms

Use the correct grade as per the owners manual, not by brand alone. In a cast iron engine you can safely use a car oil as the clutch is separated. xxW50 was what I used in my 2009 CI STD 350. Never faced any issues of over heating or cold start problem.s

                      38000 plus kms

                      Hi,
Updating the post for some new mods I have made [Completed 38000+ kms]. I have done away with the stock 3.25X19 rear tyres and installed 3.5X19 MRF nylo grip (stock for TBTS rear) and tube for my bike. I am going for a ride on 19th. Will keep the thread updated with the performance of the bike post the tyre changes. Other mods include the short-bottle silencer from royal enfield.

                      ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

                      Another quick update:
During the last few months I was suffering very occasionally from the problems arising due to the wires getting cut. The culprits in question here were the undercarriage wire and the disconnect was happening under the handlebar on making turns. There was also a time when the bike stopped abruptly when I was happily going to buy a drink and the bike broke down. Fortunately I had to push the bike only for about 1 or 2 kms to the nearest mechanic. Thankfully, even though it was near his closing time (9:00 PM) I was able to persuade him to make the fix. He made the quick fix by cutting the main casing open and tying up the broken wire.
I made the permanent fix yesterday by replacing the entire under-carriage wire system. It is only 3 years since the bike was bought (May 2010) and run 38000+ kms. I also suggest to the owners that if they find similar problems, then please do get the problem fixed by changing the entire wiring system. Pushing a 180 kg bike is not an easy task.

Verdict on the 3.5 X19 tyres: The mileage does not seem to drop. I got nearly 35 KMPL with a clean spark plug and new airfilter (I am not running on stock silencer). The ride quality has improved- earlier when going through the cuts on bridges or roads would feel like a rattle. The meatier tire has bought down the impact and has made potholes and sudden disturbances on the road a bit more tolerable. And ohh yeah....the look has also improved with the fatter Tyre on the rear.

Two Spoke Alloys on a 2013 R.Enfield Electra TS

Hey there everyone......am mulling about snapping on a pair of Two Spoke Alloys on my Royal Enfield Electra 350 Twin Spark. But that's not all!

What am aspiring to do is:

                                1. Have Two Spoke Alloys instead of the Steel Rim that's came with the bike
Concern - Will this be too much for the engine to handle?
I don't mind the drop in mileage (Why would i go for a Bullet in the first place!!!?? ) but will it result in the engine problems in the long run?
                                2. Am thinking of getting tubeless tyres instead of the stock tyres
Concern - Will this also badly affect the engine in the long run?

Looking forward to reading from you all about what you think and would advice.
Am in Bangalore and so if all this can be done in Bangalore then nothing like it!

Lurking in wait of your response!!!!!
