Bike stops as if no fuel is there. But if i put the knob in to reserve n start, bike will start with out any problem. There was plenty of fuel in the tank, above reserve level, im sure coz if i start the bike and put the knob back to on position bike will ride with no issue. Royal Enfield Battery issues
Hi guys, I am using a RE Electra 350 5 speed. I just changed the battery 10 days back.i kick-start the bike in the morning and don't use the self. But after I have parked it for say 3-4 hrs the self start does not work. Else it works fine after I ride for a while.
Is there any wiring issue?
Regards
Dilip

Electra speed issue
Hi folks, I have 2015 electra, done 5k kms, run-in properly, serviced regularly. So i have this issue where the engine is extremely uncomfortable in going beyond 70kph. the bike does go beyond 80 and i have touched 95 but the engine sounds too much in stress (like that sound if trying to go beyond 15kph in 1st gear) and there are vibrations felt on the handle and overall. I can have the wheel alignment checked but that could be the cause for vibrations but not engine uneasiness.
Is this normal with Electra/standards? I had T-bird (2003) and classic 500 (2013) and both didn't have this issue IIRC. Thanks.

How much for a RE Electra CI cylinder head cover?
Hi bull riders, does anybody know how much it costs for a new Cylinder head cover of RE Electra 4s Cast Iron Engine? I think the spark plug thread is peeling off, i want to change it or rebore it. And can i remove the cylinder head cover myself? Because the nearby local mechs are even afraid to change the clutch cable of RE, ! They'll probably run away if i told them about the engine works. Kindly guide me through the ways to remove that top portion of engine . Thanx in advance

Just out of curiosity, is the silencer of the bike in concern, Not Stock?

Re: Electra speed issue
The mixture might be too lean. unless there is any unusual mechanical noise made at that speed. what did the service centre/mechanic had to say about this?Originally posted by iBHP View PostIt is stock. Earlier I had the long bottle stock then at ~4K kms changed it to short bottle stock.

Re: Electra speed issue
Well, i did discuss with few other folks at RE service center and they were of the opinion that this speed limit is the limitation of standards. I mean 350 standards will go up to max 80ish without engine feeling stressed and 500s till 90ish.. So anyway, I serviced by bike (oil change - this time motul), air filter change and cleaned chain myself with motul c1/c2 cleaner/lube. And then I kind of did "running in" of the bike above 70. I mean I took the bike on short bursts up to 75 and then 80 repeating over many days even though the engine felt under stress. So after a few weeks and 200+ kms, 80 is the new 70, i.e. the bike's engine feels comfortable at 80 like it used to at 70. It is at 85kmph or more that the bike's engine feels stressed. It's weird that the bike now at 9500kms feels like a proper run-in bikeOriginally posted by rugved View PostThe mixture might be too lean. unless there is any unusual mechanical noise made at that speed. what did the service centre/mechanic had to say about this?
and feels smooth when driven till about 85kmph.

Re: How much for a RE Electra CI cylinder head cover?
If you have the tools and technical expertise, you can go ahead. An expert person named Monu Sagar uploads Royal Enfield maintenance/repair videos on YouTube under the caption of "Royal Enfield tips and tricks" regularly. His contact no. is given in the briefing there. He should be able to help you out.Originally posted by Aaron_kerala View PostHi bull riders, does anybody know how much it costs for a new Cylinder head cover of RE Electra 4s Cast Iron Engine?
