  • How many of you guys scrape the bottom of the fz-16 while going over Speed Bumps or into potholes? Atleast here in mumbai from my friends experience it happens a lot...especially if there is a pillion rider then it has a 100% chance of scraping. I was wondering if it was an all round thing or just some problem with his bike riding too low

    • i have gone through that if a pillion is there even lightest it scarps on oddly made breakers. But one of my frnd who has a 4 month FZ says his suspension has become stiff he says it scrapes less now, i need to check on that.

Btw i notice that FZ experiences more of wind drag (lot of wind blowing when i went to electronic city), it wasn't the same case with pulsar, this was happening at a speed of 40km/hr

Yes, my FZ scrapes regularly while going over speed bumps. But i have learned to anticipate and avoid it. I try to slow down the bike much before the speed bump, because if you break at the last moment its almost sure that it will scrape the bottom.

          • Hello Guys,

Got my beast second service just day before. Well actually i am surprised to c that the major part of their work was -

            1) Change Engine Oil
            2) Insert new filter and replace the older 1
            3) Lubricate the chain
            4) Spark plug cleaning

Well this was the first time i was standing over their head while they were making fixes.. anyways the bike feel mucg smoother now, the problem of vibrations@ 45k rpm has been fixed, and as anticipated by some of you, the nut that shrugs the engine with chasis were loose and hence the vibrations were ocuring. anyways they are almost gone (not fully tho)..

            • I got the first service done on my bike a few days back. The service mech said that they have replaced the 'ECM' on my bike. They said they were doing this on all the FZ16 bikes sold till now. Can anyone shed some light on this?

                      • Hi,

The rear view mirror of my FZ is broken from the joint (ball joint) which moves and causes the adjustment. I think that its not broken but has somehow come off. Can that be fixed?

take ur rear view mirror, there is a screw on backside, loose it and put it back on its place and then fully tight the screw of mirror,

AFAIK the fz is not controlled by an ecu its just manual tuning and idling..
i think someone can throw more light on this...

i am sorry. I should have framed my post differently. The mech said that he changed the module which is situated beneath the seat ( he said it controls things like ignition maps) The replacement even had my bike's serial no. written on it.
