Re: Honda svc changed my Front fork pipes and springs saying it was slightly scratched
All parts inside the carb are available separately. But the body or casing is not available. Make sure it is in working condition also without any cracks or stripped threads.Originally posted by ameenhp View Post

I am a proud owner of the alloy version. One of the first folks who laid hands on it as soon as it was launched in 2007. Have clocked close to 86 K till date and use it primarily for my office commute which is 56 KM to and fro in traffic.
If i have to start my ownership thread do i use this thread or can i start a new one ? please enlighten me

Re: Honda Unicorn
Hi everyone,
This is my first post here but have been learning a lot from this thread from sometime now.
I bought unicorn last year and it's running great. But lately oil is leaking from the petcock. I'm not sure if it's oil. Please advice on what it is and how to rectify it.

Oil leak after changing the oil of Honda CB Unicorn 150cc
I do own a 1.5 old year old honda CB unicorn. Two days before, I had serviced my bike and changed oil. I had parked the bike for around 10-12 hours. I noticed a minute amount of oil is dripping from the drain bold under the engine. What is this issue and how can it be treated? I have attached the pics.

Must be the service center guys forgot to tighten the bolt to the required torque.Originally posted by aniketmule View PostI do own a 1.5 old year old honda CB unicorn. or did they over-tighten it and damaged the threads !

Aftermarket brake pads for Honda Unicorn. What to buy, is it safe, and other questions..
Hi guys, I'm a newbie as far as motorcycles are concerned. I don't know a lot, so please excuse me.
I own a Honda CB Unicorn. After riding it for 2.5 years and 12700 km, the front brake pads have worn out. I get a squealing sound from the front when I apply the front brakes. It has a Bybre brake system.
The problem is, that the service centre does not have the brake pads in stock. I checked in 3 centres around my city(Kanpur), but everywhere they're out of stock. Now my other option is to get some brand brake pads and have them installed. The service centre has said they will do it if I procure the pads by myself.
My questions are:
1. Which brand has good quality brake pads for Honda Unicorn? What's a reasonable price for them?
2. Can installing pads not made by the OEM result in problems?
3. Is 12700 kilometres a decent distance out of a standard brake pad set? I brake gently, allow for adequate stopping distance, and use engine braking as much as possible.
Thank you for your time.

Goto Hero asc and get the xtreme/hunk disc pads they are direct fit and will be cheaper than honda parts even though the pads are supplied by the same vendor. If you need more stopping power then get ASK/ANL pads for uni from any spare parts store. They are asbestos based pads so give better bite than the oem non asbestos type. Cheaper too, only about 150 rsOriginally posted by metallica84 View PostHi guys, I'm a newbie as far as motorcycles are concerned. I don't know a lot, so please excuse me.

Thanks. Is ANL Allied Nippon brake? And will fitting Hunk's brake pads cause any problems?Originally posted by Jith_in View PostGoto Hero asc and get the xtreme/hunk disc pads they are direct fit and will be cheaper than honda parts even though the pads are supplied by the same vendor. Another question, will asbestos pads be safe for the disc? I've heard that using non-standard pads can cause formation of circular grooves in the disc?

Both are same No issues. Asbestos pads will make slight discoloration to the rotor due to the hard asbestos material. You can use it for getting furious bite. No it won't damage your rotor. Actually the oem pads are made by the same ASK/ANL company but they are non asbestos type.Originally posted by metallica84 View PostThanks. Is ANL Allied Nippon brake? Re: Aftermarket brake pads for Honda Unicorn. What to buy, is it safe, and other questions..
Okay, after checking at a Hero Honda Service center, I found that CBZ/Hunk brake pads are also not available. So finally purchased a set of ASK brake pads and showed them to the mechanic. He told me that although they will fit, they are slightly thicker than the OEM pads and will cause the "wheel to lock up a little for a few days"Originally posted by Jith_in View PostBoth are same No issues. I think he's saying that the brakes will drag for a few days, as they're thicker than the OEM pads.
Is this normal? Will this dragging really be cured in a few days, as he's claiming, or will it damage my disc permanently? Will it cause my brakes to fail because of overheating?
And I just noticed that the side of the box says "Hero Honda Passion"! Did the guy give me the wrong set of brake pads??
