Try checking with local honda spare parts distributor instead of service centers. You can find list on honda 2 wheeler website.

        • leech thank you for the picture, but anything more than 10% is definitely a worrisome.

@Avenger88 the part in question is the rubber coupler where the throttle body connects to the engine intake manifold. Any cracks or nicks here could hinder performance. This part won't be readily available in most places. Do DM me your number, I can try a contact of mine in KL and hope he can help.

          Cheers!

          • Hey Everyone
Hope your all doing well, its been a minute since i posted anything on here. Just thought ill give you an update on my ownership of the bike which i purchased in 2014.
Soo far the bike has done close 80k km and have done a shim and valve check once and replaced the full clutch set +Clutch bell at 50 k km, other than just general service.
Just thought ill share some one the mods i had done on my bike.

1)Exhaust- I know ill get a lot of flak for this and its not even advisable but i went ahead and purchased CBR 250r one make exhaust which was used in the CBR250r one make series, understood these are made for the bike and in Thailand and have been using the exhaust since 50k km with a DB killer. The stock exhaust was just too silent for my liking, and this exhaust with a db killer is loud enough to let people know i am behind them but not loud enough to disturb public.

2)Airfilter- Went for the K&N replacement airfilter which costed me around 4500 in 2019, it was mainly purchased because i was running the exhaust

3)Aracer Rc mini 5 ECU- This mod i put on intially in the end of 2019 , and the covid happened, and then bike started developing electrical issues like draining or battery or burning of magnetic coil, Happened to me a few times, when i decided to swap back to my Stock ecu recently and considering a ECU reflash over the piggyback unit.
Coming to the performance, Bike definitely pulled a lot better at low end and mid and top end also felt a lot of eager. Bike did run a bit rich but i was pleased with the performance , even though i had not tuned it properly ,ideally should have been done on a Dyno but there were not any at that time. Soo may opt for a ECU reflash by moto tunes, pretty soon soo the bike runs healthily.

4)Suspension upgrade- This is one mod i feel i should have done ages ago , as it totally changes your riding experience, in terms of comfort and road feel and going over speed bumps and pot holes. I had installed the Zedlings after market suspension. The spring of the suspension is a bit taller than the stock one and was made as per my weight and height which i am on the heavy side. Definitely felt a immediate difference on the road, will be linking the suspension for the same, please note this is a lifetime purchase and the suspension can be reworked once its needed.

5)Tapper rolled bearings- This mod i had gotten from my factory where we work on a few race bikes, and its a replacement for the ball bearings we get in the stock setup. Upon installation, i can immediately feel the steering is a lot free than before ,and does not need much adjustment in the long run.

6)Fork inserts- This i had got from Thailand, had just intially put it to tighten the front end feel and reduce dive, but swapped back to stock because there was a leak from one of the inserts, can get it fixed and put back but may go for a front fork insert kit instead soo that my rear is complimented .

Will be attaching a few pictures below of the suspension exhaust and the ECU which has now been swapped back to stock. The aracer ECU i feel is better suited for track use, soo may decide to keep it when the day comes, i decide use the cbr only for track uptil then it will run on the stock ecu where i am exploring the possibility of reflashing the stock ecu itself

            • Front rim options for a non-abs 2015 CBR250r

I need to replace my front rim because of a bad bend (f**king potholes). As expected, the svc centers do not have the part in stock & say it will take week to order. Are the front rims of any other bikes compatible?

                None! Only CBR's will fit.

                • Hello everyone.
                  iI
My CBR250R fell in my parking lot. The gear lever is bent slightly. Was unable to shift gears yesterday. I straightened it out a little bit. I am able to upshift but not able to downshift. I don't know what is the problem here.
Can somebody shed some light on this issue.

                  Thanks.

Check the entire linkage with the connecting rod. If the connecting rod is twisted or loose it won't shift up or down. Take it to your local mechanic, get the connecting rod checked and adjusted, it should solve the issue, if all goes well.

                    Good luck.

You need to first off, source your spares kit, which in and itself is a time consuming process owing to the age of your motorcycle which is basically a first gen. Talk to your ASS first, let them make you aware of the parts downtime and then maybe you can give it to a competent mechanic in and around your area. If you're still skeptical, maybe you can stick to the Honda ASS.

                          Good luck.

                          Cheers!

Hello Shanky88, Finding and getting parts for CBR250R is became a real task for owners and workshops. Do find biggest Honda spare parts seller in Delhi if you about how to find part numbers or stick to ASC. You don't need very skilled mechanic to replace switch and chain but you need good Honda technician for lock set replacement.

Also please use some WD40 before replacing handle switch assembly and Ignition Switch. Disassemble the handle bar switch and spray some WD 40 on contact terminals. They tend to form whitish layer which reduce electric supply.

                            • Hello everybody, I have a 2017 BS 3 CBR 250R. Everything was fine till last June. Suddenly, one day I noticed that the radiator fan was running even after I had switched off the bike and even after having locked the handle. I was in a hurry, so chose to ignore it. Then, after 4-5 hours, the bike won’t even turn on as the battery had been completely discharged. Then, the next day charged the battery outside and restarted the bike. This time the radiator fan wouldn’t turn on even the coolant temperature reached 4-5 bars. Was planning to take it to the ASC the next day, but unfortunately the issue again reappeared. The bike was completely dead, no electrical activity, even though I had charged the battery recently. The battery was also only 1 month old.

Now the ASC took 9 days and now they are saying to change the engine power module, some relays. They are quoting ₹12,000 for it. ₹10,000 for the power module only.

Can someone please help. Has anyone faced similar issue?

Also, any reliable CBR mechanic in the Delhi NCR region? I would like a second opinion.

                              Thank you in advance

                              • Royal Enfield rear brake pads (Part 594698/A) fit my 2015 non-abs CBR 250R.

If you need new rear brake pads & as per usual your service center has no stock, you can use Royal Enfield rear brake pads. The parts shop said this was a standard part for a wide range of bullets. It cost Rs 250. Picture of worn Honda brake pads, and the replacement Enfield pads is attached.
