I think you being in Delhi should go for a TD and a deal from Delhi sbks, lajpat nagar. Absolutely brilliant staff, very eager to help, youngsters who are full of enthusiasm, yet to try their workshop service as its not yet open but they did the special way of asking me to come to their showroom, calling their mechanic and setting everything right even though i got the bike from some one else.

The gurgaon dealers are average sales wise but service is pathetic, they are thick skinned and not willing to help - they will take you for granted and treat you like a 100cc owner.
Garware have been helpful till now but the gurgaon svc overpowers that as well - they dont listen to anybody - every one has the same opinion, terrible staff.

All the best brother, say Rajat said a Hii to the delhi sbks guy when you go, they remember me as the white gt650r owner
i've been in touch with Akshay in the lajpat nagar showroom, nice enthusiastic guy..he did remember u and many other customers as well..
going for the test drive tomorrow..lets see how it goes

            what an idea sir ji...
how come garware will come in to picture here .. this is purely a dispute between Customer and dealer .. who is correct or wrong only those two parties knows it ..
all companies will assist if there is anything related to product [defect/replacement/fixes/suggestion from customer on improvement/etc..etc..] and i see Garware is nothing to do here .. according to them SVC provided the service to customer at any time customer wanted and that closes case from that side.. now Mech due to his negligence crashed and intern it will become SVC responsibility and customer who was given the bike [purely according to law.. no matter who rides .. the owner will also be responsible ]

                Copied from facebook -

THE FULL STORY OF THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED: My name is Melroy Alphonso staying at Mumbai.I had purchased a ruby red Hyosung GT650R from Ronit Motors,Mumbai in the month of June,2011.I was one of the first customers in Mumbai to city to purchase the bike. Garware Motors has sponsered a endurance ride to complete distance of 2400kms in 24/36hrs.They had made a part payment of Rs10,000 for doing the sponsered ride. My ride was Mumbai to Jaipur and back and the scheduled date was 10th November 9am.Before the ride on 9th Nov,Technical engineer at Garware motors supervised by bike being checked and also got the bike washed at Ronit Motors workshop. There was a problem after the wash and the bike FI light started blinking, the problem came up as a fauty gear position indicator and it was duly replaced. I set out on my ride Thursday 10th morning.workshop manager,Ronit motors, nephew owner,Ronit Motors and Technical engineer,Garware motors was present along with my family member and friends. My ride from Mumbai to Surat was smooth, went ahead passing Ahmedabad and then at Gandhinagar after refuelling from the petrol pump.I felt like the rear tyre was slipping and I slowly parked the bike on the side and contacted the Technical engineer .I also informed him that earlier during the day,the bike had tilted and fallen on the right hand side while negotiaitng a turn. The fuel leaking stopped and I started my bike again, going little ahead the same problem happened and I slowly stopped the bike on the side of the road.Thankfully I had come to a small village area and the store owner helped me out by calling a mechanic. The mechanic arrived and he pushed the bike to the workshop. The roadside mechanic was in constant touch with Tech engineer through phone calls on how to rectify the problem. After getting it checked ,the mechanic came along with his scooter following me on my bike to check whether there is leakage happening again. And yes It did for the third time.Again the mechanic was in talks with Technical Engineer at Garware motors and the problem seemed to be the bike's faulty fuel pump. The Technical engineer was in talks with sales manager,RC motors. They asked me to get my bike to RC motors,Ahmedabad. After making arrangement myself I loaded the bike on to a pickup vehicle and took the bike back 50kms plus from Ghandinagar area to the showroom. The owner was present along with two mechanic and he greeted me and treated me well. The mechanic stated working on the bike and the replaced the bike's fuel pump. The dealer's mechanic took the bike for a test and made a "U"turn to the other side of the road and raced the bike so fast that the engine noise was very loud.Barely 5-10secs after racing the bike he hit the the divider, further going ahead and hitting the pole.He didn't bother to wear a helmet. After getting the mechanic admitted and hour later he died.I took a air flight Friday afternoon 3pm at my own expense after informing the Tech engineer and General manager(sales&mktg) and came back to Mumbai,I also informed them that my bike is lying at RC motors showroom badly damaged. The Technical engineer says it's my fault that the bike's fuel pump was damaged because I had dropped the bike earlier during the day.Brand manager/Sales manager at Garware motors says I should claim insurance on the bike.General manager(sales&mtkg) spoke very rudely on the phone and had a argument.Sales manager at RC Motors says that it's my fault that they have lost a mechanic.

                • AFAIK the company has offered him to pay the part which will not be covered under the insurance which means he will getting the complete cost of the bike, seems like a fair deal to me.

We should be a little considerate, between all this drama we have completely forgot that somebody has lost his life which is way precious then anything.

                  • Is this the service expected from Garware for a 5L bike. Just imagine your own bike totaled by a service centre and then being blamed for it.

I have full sympathy for the mechanic who lost his life in this debacle. It was unfortunate - just if he were a bit more careful with speed and helmet. But AFAIK the SVC trying to wash off hands blaming him for the lost life and fuel pump is utterly ridiculous .

But yes I agree, all said and done this is just one part of the story.

Just got back from my test drive from delhi sbks in lajpat nagar, apart from talking about my future purchase, Akshay, the manager, did have a lot to say about the incident
Although its the other side of the story, what's sad is the loss of a life
Cant imagine what melroy has gone through, also the negative word going around hyosung

                      Hope its sorted out soon

I think so, his bike is coming back to Mumbai next week and rest of the repairs would be done there.

As for buying nothing from Garware - am amazed that people are going around on single track. Agree it was the dealer's responsibility on helping melroy but all the blame games on facebook didnt help. Its clearly mentioned in terms and conditions of the job card that if any accident or damage is inflicted on the bike then customer has to bear the cost. Its the same with everyone, bajaj, tata, honda etc.

Even when i give my car for servicing - i take a test drive myself after service, more so with the GT650R it being a bike which has tremendous power for indian mechanics or people.

If some one agrees to repair the whole thing on their own then thats a goodwill gesture by a dealer missing in RC motors.
But please consider that they opened their workshop at 2 in the night, changed the fuel pump foc without any questions and more so a life was lost - i think that is more important than cribbing over 20-30k.
A bike would be rebuilt again but a loss of life can not be undone.

The materialistic things can be recovered/acquired again but what about the life which is irrecoverable.

+1 to that. I went through all the crap on facebook and its shocking that we are talking about the bike when a life has been lost. Just claim the insurance and be grateful that the company and the SVC were gracious enough to open up shop in the middle of the night. To top it all, they replace the fuel pump free of cost(this, after the guy had a fall first)
A mechanic, probably sleeping with his wife and baby, must have had to leave his home at the middle of the night just so that a "customer" can have a bike repaired. That guy never returned home. Is that "beside" the point.
Agreed, the guy could and should have worn an helmet, but thats ok... shit happens! Have we not lost some biking brothers to freak accidents. It was a freak thing that happened. Move on now, stop crying over a bike which can be repaired !

Next year, i was planning to buy the N650R but after seeing the commitment shown by Hyosung, i will definitely check the Hyosung out too.

                            • Crash report

Guys! Is there a place in India where I can buy crash guards for the GT650R? Or do I need to import them?

My crash in Ooty (curve 31) was an eyeopener...the entire weight of the fall was taken by the right clip on...that just snapped off...Small damage to the fairing.
The Garware motors emergency services were ready for a free pickup of the bike only within 100kms...beyond that it is Rs.68/km - one way. The condition is 'Spot Payment' at the pickup point!! It worked out to approx. Rs.12000 plus taxes A local guy did it for Rs.5500/-. The Satya Mitra showroom & service guys did a lot to help me.
There is another bike parked at the service centre with a snapped left clipon..It's been two weeks since the crash & my bike is still parked at the service centre! Guys are too busy selling new bikes, I guess
