ive booked the ALL RED..red+black was 17k extra..while the supposed white premium was 20k..
The white having a premium of 20k extra is definitely something new. So far, those who've bought it have not paid any kind of premium for a single tone colour. I guess its due to the presence of the white GT, looks stunning with its metallic finish - causing it to get overbooked.

The Full red (Ruby Red) is not bad either.

        • Scratches on Tank

          hi guys,

Is anyone using knee guards while riding ? Need a suggestion to avoid scratches on the tank.

I used AStar knee guards for one ride and these have left lots of scratches on the tank where the knee guard is touching it.. One of the fellow riders noticed that while we were riding and mid way I bought some cello tape and used that to avoid any further scratches..

Is there any permanent solution that is not an eye sore (like the cello tape that I used ) .. I have read about STOMP grip, something like this

Stomp Grip Traction Pads - Street Bike - Motorcycle Superstore

Are these available in India (perhaps by some other name) ? I tried searching some online shops but no success so far.. and don't know if these will actually fit the shape of the tank correctly and what if these are an eye sore as well ..

          Cheers

You can try with 3M sticker which is a transparent one and sticks neat to avoid scratches on the tank.

Do give them a call, this shouldnt be a case of dealer charging black for a specific color just because its in demand to make a quick buck. Those guys are not like that so i think its something to do with garware.

Am glad, i saved 20 k, Ruby red is an awesome choice of color as well and better as maintaining a white is a pain in the you know everywhere.

Even a 20kms ride with jeans on makes the tank look yellow but when its clean and polished - nothing like it.

Thats the sole reason am not using knee guards at present, try getting riding pants, for those highway runs they would suit you and wont scratch the tank as well.

Or you could wear the knee guards inside your jeans. It works.

i called garware..they confirmed that white is pretty much sold out..therefore the premium..

been having 2nd thoughts about the red all day long today..going tomorrow to reaffirm my decision..or maybe to change to white..

any suggestions? is it worth the extra 20k?? or should i just settle for red?

White is always the best one.... but maintenance is a big problem, a small mark will looks odd. You could go for the White-Black dual color which is around 17k more than the single color if white is a premium grade.

With 20k you can gear up with the best outfits. Don't compromise with the safety accessories.

                        • @ Bangy guys.. a month back i had posted about my front brakes getting messed up and taking i to the Service center hoping that they could fix it.. 3 days they give my bike back with no front brakes and with a comment that the calipers were gone...

Finally i get the bike to Irshaad, the man who revamped my 250 and he got it done in less than a day.. when asked what happened, all he told was that there was a rubber bush in the caliper that had to be replaced.. and he also told that someone washed the calipers with petrol or kerosene and that expanded the bush...

so please do check your bikes well before and after cos these guys are really not trained for such bikes.

thanks, however, where can I get the same ? any pointers to any online store...

Riding pants are not too comfortable, that is what my current assumption is, however I may look at these some time in future.. at present need a solution for knee guards.. bought a new set last month, but still unused due to scratch problem..

Yeah that may work.. I think it will still leave some scratches on the tank..may not be that bad.. but then I would have to wear very loose fitting jeans.. will try with some cargo pants, those are usually loose at knees...

                            Cheers..

Thanks Vijith for the info..Tomorrow i'm taking my bike to SC to check the rear disk brakes...

                              Mittal,
I dont think you get it online for the design, need to get the customized cut. Check with Auto Service or Pro Biking.

I'm using riding pants and its very comfortable on long runs. I recommend it is very necessary on highways.

                              • If you are going for a short ride then you can wear knee guards under loose fitting jeans or cargo pants.
Wearing them outside will definitely scratch the tank.
For longer rides riding pants are more comfortable anyday as the velcro straps on knee protectors start getting uncomfortable against your skin after a while. Whereas in case of riding pants, the protectors are stitched onto the pant&there is a soft cloth/mesh where it touches your skin so it doesn't matter at all.
