    • Hi Santoosh,
Thanks for your response. I read your mini experience and got a fair idea about the GT650N. Anant informed me that if I buy the bike before 2012 I'll get Rs. 40k discount. I cannot do that in such a short time because I am not in India and will be visiting India only in the middle of 2012.
Can you tell me how much did you pay on road? Have you done long tours on this bike, is it possible to do Ladakh on this?

        • Hi

Can you tell me how much did you pay on road?
Without the Offer it is 5.3L on Road in BLR
Have you done long tours on this bike,

Not Long tours , Just few days old , But did 400kms of highway ride.

is it possible to do Ladakh on this?
          Yes and No.

Possible cos it has decent Ground clearance. But is heavy , and I too sold the GT 250 before i went to Leh this year and Took the Karizma instead.
Its Just more easy and practical.
Since The Tires are of Pretty soft compound , It ll get Cut very easily in the Roads of ladakh , 300kms in Blr and Already i can see the rubber Cut :-) , Thanks to the roads. Also in the water crossings and With nobody around , Its Gonna be difficult ,
Also with Lower FE in the Hills , Its not really worth Taking the GTN there.

else , to tour around the Country , its awesome .
I toured about 8000 kms solo on the 250 in 2 weeks.. This will be cakewalk on the GTN.
Riding Position is the best .

            • Hensil, since you are considering only above 600cc and you would be coming sometime mid 2012 you can wait for Ducati Monster 795 which will be launched in Jan'12 in India. Also N650 bookings will re open in Feb-Mar'12 so that is also an option

Specially riding in Ladakh, I would suggest Duke 200 or CBR250 or trusted ZMA's. Ladakh would have really bad terrain, water crossings, landslides and fuel quality issues hence 600cc class bike is not the best choice.

For anywhere else, I guess most places in India above 600cc should be so much of an issue.

              • Hi Sachin,
I absolutely agree with you. I'll wait for Ducati and Ninja and then decide what to buy.
Regarding Ladakh I'll ride my son's R15. Thanks.

                      • Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy the Hyosung GT650r. I currently own a Ninja 250r which i would be selling shortly. I plan to buy the Hyosung since it is a 650 and within my budget. All my friends have advised me not to buy the hyosung because of the following:

                        -poor build quality
                        -poor after sales service
-knocking while accelerating, meaning the acceleration can jump even when the throttle is held steady
                        -vibrations after a certain rpm
-price may be reduced due to poor sales

I would like to know from current owners if any of the above is true or if there is any other issue that i should know about before making my purchase.

                        Thank you in advance.

If GT650R is within your budget, then the N650R should be within it as well? Anyone upgrading from N250R is more likely to feel comfortable on an N650R than on a GT. Any specific reasons to look forward to the GT650R?

Especially because, whichever 650 you buy, you will face a certain set of pro's and con's. At that time, if you happen to go for a GT against your friend's advice, you DONT want them to come back to you and say 'I told you so...'.

Unless you are a big fan of v-twin's or know exactly what you are looking for and see it in the GT650R, i'd say dont buy it.

Isn't the ZX6R (though not available in India) a natural upgrade for N250R riders, than the ER6F? So on the basis of cornering abilities, currently, the GT650R (IMO) should suffice Invincible2110's needs.

I would like the GT650R owners to answer this question:

                              Knowing about the bike's:
                              1) Weight and aggressive riding posture - Making it a difficult machine to commute on
                              2) Build quality, and
                              3) Maintenance and after sale service

                              Is the bike worth buying?

All i say is listen to ur heart
if u like something then take it ..surely it will giv u lot of happiness than heading to someone's advice and feeling sad within ur heart.
about GT it may/maynot have some issues but all i know is its an international product and its pretty successful around the world compared to any other brand bike, so even Ninja has its own problem if u consider it as a product [google it], as per the reviews only draw back of GT is its service centers and vibes @certain rpm [due to engine type].
so its finally ur call , as ur the one who gonna spend money, i advice u to drop a PM to SunilG who owns one and he used it extensively
