1. Horn got replaced twice (bike was in the service centre for a week awaiting shipment from HO during first time replacement), after first time replacement, the two sitting clamps were loose and on high speed runs would by itself get removed, more than ten times I had to put them back, got the horn replaced for the second time yesterday, as the honk was very absurd sounding
2. High Beam indicator never got lit up right after one month of procuring the bike, finally the whole console unit (which costs around Rs. 22,000) got replaced yesterday under warranty
3. False (or Actual) Red FI often gets lit up
4. Both side indicators blink was uneven, often stagnant, on analysing it was told that there was some fused component which got replaced
5. Battery was dead all of a sudden, got stranded at Lal Bagh road (near Urvashi), but ultimately pushed the bike to get it started, the service personnel came with a fully charged battery and it was found that due to some component failure, battery was not getting charged, which ultimately was replaced
6. Right view mirror got replaced, as the joining point of the mirror component and its handle was protruding out, and on high speed runs used to bent down, obstructing view
7. The rear disc plate has a straight liner crack (around 1.2 inches long), observed it just today (that was just when I took delivery yesterday after the speedometer console unit replacement, side indicators, right view mirror and horn issue). The disc plate will now get replaced

Top speed!!!
was getting bored in the office, so i thought i'd have a quick bite and go for a ride on the greater noida expressway..n before i came to terms with it, was reading 214km/h on the speedo!
major vibes though..will be getting the 1st service done this week, hope it smoothens out a bit, cause after breaking the 200 barrier, i'd like to keep it going..

It gives me fear to read what you have faced with your bike.. I wish noone faces such issues.. I got my GT's battery drained suddenly last week. SVC is looking into that issue right now. Not sure whether the fault is with battery itself.Originally posted by abhirajcb View PostApart from the above, there were some petty issues on which I do not even want to ponder upon. The GT650R has indeed given me some share of fun with high speed gushes but now the faith is lost. I hope other owners are having a good time with their GTs.MJ

Mine had the exact same issue and had been in SVC since friday, i am told that it was due to a bad RR unit. Expecting to get it back sometime later this week.Originally posted by men_in_jean View PostIt gives me fear to read what you have faced with your bike.. I wish noone faces such issues.. This is too much!
Well the Indian operations of Hyosung is not only living up to the joke like reputation of Hyosung abroad, but setting new benchmarks. It is almost criminal negligence and I shudder to think what Abhiraj's frame of mind would be at such a disastrous turn of events.
While buying a Hyosung, we are all aware of the quality issues, but I was thinking more in terms of poor finish and exposed wiring etc, not in terms of batteries going kaput, ECUs dying, and now fuel tanks disintegrating.
Forget about comparing their quality with the Ninja 650 and 250, with incidents like this, I doubt if their quality can even be compared to Indian manufacturers like Bajaj, TVS, Tata and Mahindra.
Their service and smiles and customer centricity are all nice and fine, but worth nothing if the bike is not an reliable automobile but a chinese toy that may or may not work depending on your luck.
Strong feedback must be given to Garware Motors, if possible in an organized manner.
P.S.: It doesn't matter if 50% or 80% or 90% of the customers are happy. even 5% having such problems is a catastrophe by today's quality standards.Last edited by Crusoe GTN; 01-31-2012, 06:21 PM.

Have clocked only 2500 kms so far in my 4 month stint with the bike and yes i agree that a lot is left to be desired, i can only sympathise with what abhiraj is going through, infact i still remember his happy post with the pictures wherein he is aboard the bike for the first time and every one is gazing at him.
I havent faced anything serious (touchwood) but after reading all this, the confidence definitely takes a big hit - the white GT 650 have the tank discoloration problem, my new tank has been shipped and is being replaced under warranty along with the left mirror.
This rectifier issue is another one, 2 on the same page and a owner i know personally making it 3 have the same issue and it hit them around the 7000-8000 kms mark - imagine going on a tour and 400 kms away from service support the battery is dead
- just doesnt inspire confidence, infact am getting prepared for a blown rectifier now.
Brat had serious issues with his FI system which took them ages to diagnose, the tank replacement for me would take 1 month though which is much better than 4 months that it took for patty_86 to get it replaced and abhiraj has had a host of troubles.
I just hope if there is a design defect with rectifier, Garware should do a recall rather than waiting for people to get stranded with a dead battery. They are trying their best but the quality of components isnt upto the mark - with honda etc entering the 600cc market, its tough times ahead, they need to manage and keep the 650 owners happy before launching the 250. Have heard the GT250R is under ARAI tests.Last edited by coolboy007; 02-03-2012, 03:40 AM.

Hey guys! GT650R for sure is a looker with specs & performance to match.
Seems a majority of owners are not happy & satisfied with the after sales dept.Surprisingly a lot of bikes sold to customers have inherent defects be it the paint peeling off tanks, the brakes or the battery running out of juice due to faulty rectifier....and the list goes on...
I dont understand how can these bikes pass "Quality Control", or the standards for quality control at Garware is below par.
All this reminds me of Kinetic launching these fantastic 250cc motors namely Aquila and Comet with Hyosung. Bikes were good but due to poor after sales service & support ,they had to shut shop.
Garware motors.............which way are you heading??????
Keep the rubber side down.
Ciao!!

Hey Brat, the issue was the RR unit in my case as well. It has been replaced on warranty and now running.Originally posted by Brat View PostMine had the exact same issue and had been in SVC since friday, i am told that it was due to a bad RR unit. Expecting to get it back sometime later this week.
We are having somewhat similar issues aren't we ?
@coolboy: What you said is right. on the next RR failure to anyone we all will consolidate and shoot an email to Ms. Diya Garware. What say?MJ

You my friend have had one of the economical 1st services in the community.Originally posted by joyistheworld View Postlabour was free..but i had 2 pay 3200 for oil..
If you've only paid for the oil, you have a free oil filter in there as well.
Umm.. whats the ODO reading on yours? Mine's about 7k, Maybe its because we're both ageing the GT's at a similar pace and these niggles are in some manner related to the overall kms clocked?Originally posted by men_in_jean View PostHey Brat, the issue was the RR unit in my case as well. Either way, GT was back with a replaced RR unit. ECU's still flapping around b/w 1200rpm - 800rpm at idle However, issue only occurs when the bike heats up reasonably - i.e., around 4 bars on the temp gauge. If its not the voltage levels at the battery and RR unit is keeping it fully supplied, i am starting to suspect the TPS.
It also appears to have some hiccups during startup, these were the same symptoms before the battery drained last time, so i've sent it back to the SVC and got in touch with the GM. They are having two engineers from Pune come down to Bangalore tomorrow to take a look at it. Fortunately, they're bringing along the ECU diagnostic tool as well which would clearly point out the malfunctioning sensor with the error code on HUD.
Maybe we should put together a list of known issues, symptoms and fixes somewhere in here?
Maybe some of the newer owners might find it useful...
