Re: Ninja 650R - Ownership Thread
Finally got my Ninja 650 today.
Rode it for around 15kms and I must say I am LOVING it!!!
Will post pics in sometime.
Any idea how good are these frame sliders:
Wasnt happy with the stock headlight, hence got Osram H7 Nightbreaker unlimited. These were better than stock however I am used to ridding with LED and HID projectors in my R15 v2, hence had some difficulties riding at night.
Finally got the Osram 35W H7 4200k HID conversion kit. Fixed em myself today morning and boy, they are amazing.
Light up the road real good, the color is very good and doesnt cause glare as well to oncoming traffic.
The color is as close to nigh performance halogens.
Prior to this I have used 3 different kits in my R15 v2 (2 6000k and 1 4300k) and none of those were this good.
Can post pics if folks want to see.Last edited by hellgate; 06-23-2016, 08:44 PM.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.Originally posted by sman999 View PostI would test ride a showroom vehicle and then come back to this for a test ride. Only then you ll know the difference. If not you must have had your hands on a 650R already.
Please check for bent forks, swing arm, alloys. Broken fairing mounts. Also Since u said it wasn't used for a while check for rusted parts through out.
I am going to pick the bike up on Tuesday 14-6-2016 from Koramangala in Bangalore.
A request to experienced members: Would someone be kind enough to accompany me when I buy the bike. Asking as this is the first time I am buying a 2nd hand bike.

I am getting a deal for a 2013 Ninja 650R with 2236kms on odo for 3.8 lacs.
The owner said that he had crashed/fell once as a cow came in front. Post this he replaced the scratched fairing.
Went and examined the bike yesterday. Its in as good as new condition. Rode the bike and didnt seem to experience any such issue.
Would it be wise to pick this up?
What additional stuff should I check before picking up the bike.
Service record is clean. However bike wasnt used for about a year, but was serviced.

Re: Ninja 650R - Ownership Thread
I'm amazed to see how you turn it. I have a friend who has N650 and it was very difficult to turn the motorcycle in all turns. Even he agrees to the same even after many thousand kms of ownership.. It is a straight line rocket but when it comes to turns it require a lot more effort than we anticipate.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostHello everyone. A few pics from yesterdays photoshoot. Apologies for not being in proper gear. It was an impromptu thing for which I wasn't prepared. Anyways, good to have ace photographers as friends
Will try to re-shoot again with my gear on.

Re: Ninja 650R - Ownership Thread
Hello there buddy,Originally posted by Above_All View PostHi , can any new ninja 650r owner answer following questions?1) Is it good to use it for around 100/150 km daily on mixed road condition?2) Is any routine maintainance other than service schedule is needed?3) Is spare part be issue or get available?4) How much FE one should except?5) Frame Slider , Left Grab rail , rear seat cowl availability & cost?
remember me....Paddy from the ZMR forum. Anyway got the ninja last September (I still have the ZMR).
Can try my best to ans your questions:
1.Totally good for mixed conditions we have uite a many members who use it as their primary bike from buying milk round the corner to going on long road trips across state borders.
2. If you use your bike respectfully ...No nothing else required apart from the regular service.
3. Spare part issue...Yes not all the spares can be made available at a go when required. But the SVC's do source them withing a week or two (MAX) if required)
4.FE is a very subjective issue....I personally have got like 12kmpl to 17kmpl in city (bumper to bumper traffic) and reached 25kmpls on highways while i tour. But in usual city traffic moving ...you can expect a 18-20 kmpl number.
5. I can give u quote for things i have added: Frame Sliders Puig pro ~11k
Left grab rail around 1800.
And to mention its a brilliant upgrade from the ZMR. On a personal front you wont take much time to get in sync with the bike. But yeah with great power...comes.........you know it :-) Best of Luck!

Re: Ninja 650R - Ownership Thread
I'm not a owner but I know a few, coming to fuel efficiency, u can expect anything between 24 in the cities to 29 on the highways, spare parts are dependent on the Kawasaki service centres and the number of them, but all I known is that spares will be on the slightly expensive side.Originally posted by Above_All View PostHi , can any new ninja 650r owner answer following questions?1) Is it good to use it for around 100/150 km daily on mixed road condition?2) Is any routine maintainance other than service schedule is needed?3) Is spare part be issue or get available?4) How much FE one should except?5) Frame Slider , Left Grab rail , rear seat cowl availability & cost?
