^This is what the case is. In my case they do not even reply to e-mails and complaints.
Hero was good till the time they were with Honda. I had made a mistake of purchasing Kinetic ZX Zoom after Kinetic had split with Honda. Horrible experience. Repeated the same mistake with Impulse, sadly.

I personally stopped going to hero for anything. My mechanic can get stuff done much better then the blockheads at hero.

BTW, my friend replaced his front brake pads on Impulse, the mechanic installed Unicorn pads - works fantastic, better then stock, and more easy available too!

You can't say this thing only for Hero only, Honda is also sharing the same boat, infact Hero is still better than Honda in terms of after sale service, but Honda is totally an lost affair, the service centre mechanics of Honda are absolute idiots.

Same here. These guys at the service center don't understand anything.

Btw, I've now stared stocking some of impulse spares so that when required I could change is myself.

          Parts stocked:
          1. Chain set
          2. Sprocket set
          3. Air filter
          4. Cone set
          5. Clutch cable
          6. Accelerator cable
          7. Rear brake shoe
          8. Friend disc pad

Some of these parts are impulse only hence stocked.

Installing this handguard is harder than it looks. There are two ways. Either you can get a new handlebar which has a hollow end. You will be needing fz bar end caps for that. Or you can do it in the stock handlebar as I have done. But for tht you will have to find a good machinery to drill the both ends of the handlebar. Which is hard to find. My uncle owns a company which makes propellor for ships and all. I went there and put the hole in the stock one. I prefer getting a new handlebar with fz bar end caps. When getting new one see the fz bar end cap fits properly. The handguard costs only arnd 800rs I guess. I spent a lot because I had no idea. I wasted money on new handlebars, barends and all. Bar end cap didnt fit the new handlebar. Then some other issues and all.
This is the easiest and time saving way to install this handguard from my experience :get a new handlebar of suitable size. See whether the holes for the cluster is there. Get two bar end caps of yamaha fz. See whther it fits tight in the new handlebar. Now get a new pair of handguards from ktm. (Its rely hard to get it, availabitily of that is so poor. You will have to keep on contacting them for getting it). You will get a box which consist of handguards and its fittings. You wont be needing the end mounting bolts because on the ends you will be needing fz bar ends. Use the washers in the handguard package to make a space between throttle and handguard. Else throttle will get stuck when you open it. Also manage the cables , it tends to get tight.

Let me know when you get all these. I been planning the same thing. Installed handguards and forkboots. For windshield I am thinking of fz s visor.

I have changed my fork in warranty but they say it costs around 450₹

And about the clutch plate it depends how much layers of clutch plate u have damaged...eg. My splendor needed clutch plate change, it cost me 250 but my friends costed around for 1600 for same model splendor because he used it like a grinder

Disk pads go a little high around 650 a pair.

Chain sprocket might spike high price no idea but normal 40-42 teeth sprocket costa around 1500....impulse has 52... U might want to decrease teeth no. It will increase speed tho decreases torque
And finally find a asc where they still sell impulse that asc is the one where mechanics trained for impulse work.

i think it is time for a service where i get new front pads, rear pads, coneset inspected/replaced, fork oil changed, disc brake fluid changed. it has done 22k Km but feels like it has done 50k. air filter was changed at 12k alongwith spark plug but it still turns off while idling sometimes or just as i pull the clutch and select 1st it will sound 'plop' and turn off.

even after spending a lot for the spoke adjustment and truing, the bike still is horrible to ride.

is there ANY way i can fit tubeless wheels + alloys on this bike. i have been through more than my share of punctures on bangalore's horrible roads and any puncture on this bike at highway speeds is life-threatening and nothing less. the terrible wobbles don't help at low speeds either i asked around a lot of ASCs if Xtreme's 18-inchers fr disc + rr drum wheels + tires can be fitted but all said no and just have a no-can't-do approach towards impulse.

And finally find a asc where they still sell impulse that asc is the one where mechanics trained for impulse work.

That's a sensible suggestion! can anyone tell me such a showroom in bangalore? for the work mentioned above. till now my experience with Rishi Motors has been sort of bad and Nidhi Motors Hosur are complete crooks, false billing, incorrect pricing of spares, no concept of hero goodlife discount, it's just pathetic. even after paying for a full service, every other thing is charged separately (though this should not happen as long as the motorcycle is in warranty, post-warranty labour charges may apply for something like brake pad change, but not until warranty gets over)
