    Got an Impulse..

    .. a 2011 model with a new Cylinder/Engine block, Piston Kit and New Clutch Plates, therefore its with an essentially new engine.


    But was surprised to know that the Engine/Cylinder block and Piston Kit is DIFFERENT from that used on the Hero Hunk/Xtreme (was under the impression that it was similar).

      tell us about clutch plates are they same which is used in cbz and hunk

        Not sure about the Clutch Plates.

        I have heard that even the Accelerator and Clutch Cables are difficult to source.

            Thats probably because Impulse sells more in Mumbai than any other city in india.

              Just saw this post.

              You need to make the effort to fix it right, instead of planning to fix alloys.

              1. Take the wheels off the bike
              2. Take the wheels to a wheel truing expert in your city
              3. Replace spokes as necessary during truing
              4. Fix the trued wheels back onto the bike
              5. Buy a air pressure gauge and ensure you do not fill more than the recommended pressure into your tyres. Fill a little lower than recommended if doing bumpy roads/trails.
              6. Buy a little tool to tighten the spokes in the event they work themselves loose which will cause them to brake.
              7. Let us know how this worked out

              Try to buy a soft drink crate or fabricate a stool to place under the double cradle frame to remove both wheels.

                Two years of ownership. 12050 on odo. Today left bike at ASC for 8th service. Battery exchanged in warranty with in six months of purchase, 3 punctures till now, fixing them is real pain, couldn't find 110/90 17 tube anywhere in Mumbai, Still lookin for both front and rear tubes, air filter changed around 8000 kms, now con set to be changed in this service, estimated price is around 1100, too expensive. Hope that will solve signature thud sound issue. Finding spares is difficult. Rear suspension is getting harder.
                I wish I could change tyres to tubeless ones.
                Getting a millage around 48 to 50 kmpl.

                No doubt its a great bike but with poor backup from hero Moto corp.

                          Yes I saw that but every time my ASC filled oil it came to the red mark without screwing it down to the close position but this time it showed till above shown upper mark ie blue mark in my pic. I called the head mechanic asking that why the oil is not showing till the upper mark as it did every time after they changed oil that is till red mark. he said impulse takes 1000 ml only. It will take 1.2 ltr only if engine was disassembled. But then why the difference in reading this time if they were always putting 1000 ml. I am confused which is the correct reading.

                            The asc guys only put 900ml in the crankshaft,due to which i bought a extra bottle of oil just to top up after reaching home...it's true that impulse needs 1.2 liters of oil after reading lots of threads...

                              Volume ( milliliter liter etc ) have no relation to your bike's engine oil . Only thing you have to ensure is the oil level stays between the upper (max) and lower (min) marks on the dipstick at all times . Higher or lower oil level is equally bad for the engine .
                              Also - read the owner's manual carefully and follow the given procedure exactly to check this oil level - so that there may be no chance of mistakes in reading the level . Because there are several ways you can make a wrong oil level reading with the dipstick .

                                Guys is hero xtreme's engine oil filter and gaskets compatible with impulse...tomorrow i need to service i have clocked 6500 on the odo...not even once oil filter was replaced is it a problem in long term use of the bike..
                                Please let me know..
                                My bike has become a bakasur...every other month it's like BUST AN ANOTHER THOUSAND. Even when i take good care of her by servicing every 1200kms :what::what:
