I actually bought 2012 model from a dealer so most accessory parts are of bad quality due to those two years... Same here for speedo... Mine is now over 4000 and m surprised that in rainy season it doesn't got condensed but after that un summer it started behaving weird like left indicator light on speedo stops working and also sometime the backlight of meter keeps on even after you turn off the bike... Fed up totally.
Planning to swap everything from front including triple clamp, better USD enduro suspensions better aftermarket digital speedo meter and headlight assembly for off-road bike... But it will costs over my budget ... It is something which we should do all at once. :/

I'm not inclined to increase the top speed but need better usable initial and midrange.

Great to see you chipping in for an Impulse. Well i have two 2strokes myself too.
Anyways, geting a nice low and midrange from the Impulse other than sprocketing would be to Downjet from the main jet size of whopping 132. Im using 125 mainjetsize which is better in terms of low and midrange. Get the restrictive airflow and exhaust routing sorted out too. It will help a great deal extracting that little out of the Impulse.

Thanks Ankit, I wonder how a smaller main jet will give a better lowend.. But I'll sure give it a try. 125 is from which bike? I'm thinking of installing a UNI filter and de restrict the exhaust without making it too loud. Any pointers on what to remove from the canister? Anyone using a UNI here? Please share the jet sizes you ppl have used.

125 mainjet is from the ZMA. I modified the exhaust routings by removing off the catalytic converter and the baffle tube from the rear end. The bike is still sounding decent and calm. On the other hand its very relaxed and free now. I had the stock paper type air filter removed too and plonked in a custom made foam type. These all mods got the engine breathe freely.
With 125jetsize power is fine but ive lost the top end by a very less margin...with going down a couple of sizes ill loose more buy gain on the mid and low end. Same thing happened when i changed the carb on a different bike. Going from smaller 26mm carb body to 28mm i gained a lot of top end losing low and mid. Viceversa happens on grading down to small mm carbs.
Same is with the jets upto an extent. What i witnessed in Impulse was a nice and more linear power delivery at mid rpms than before. Now ill have to switch down a couple of jetsizes more though...as high altitudes takes a heavy toll on Impulse's 28mm carb and 132main jetsize and that very-very restrictive exhaust routing. This all fators lead to over all riching the A/F mixture and me being a tourer lot of the time while riding have to downjet more in order to get it running at high altitudes. Meanwhile in the city conditions 125 jetsize performs a lot better than the stock 132. Plug color also reads good.

Today went to a Mech to see if he can fix a main stand in my bike. He said he can fix a centre stand but money he asked was too much. He asked for 1k and I will have to buy a stand, pin and spring. So total cost will be around 1.5 k.
Any one tried to get a main stand here? I saw one impulse with a centre stand in a parking lot couple of weeks back.

It's a pain to fix punctures without it.

Did you go to Mahim? Remember that modified impluse pics that I had sent you.. that person fitted a zma stand on his impulse.

No I did not go to mahim but asked a local mechanic in mira road. Yes it's possible to fix it but I think money he is asking is too much for it.

If you could help me in getting chain-sprocket set for Impulse as well as plastic tank scoops (my right one cracked somehow), I would be very grateful. Or at-least part numbers so that I can harass the guys at Hero for taking so long to ship the items.

Infact I passed through your hometown on my trip to Arunachal!

Hello fellow xbhpians and impulse owners.
I'm Bhanu Prakash from Bangalore and I own a Honda dazzler from past 4 years. I am very much interested in buying a hero impulse now, from showroom. I know that the production of this bike has been stopped and getting spares is a difficult task. I kindly request all of you to let me know if its a good decision to buy the bike now?
Can we live with the spares problem in Bangalore?
And I think I can get the bike at a very good price from showroom since it will be a 2012 manufactured bike, right?
And I don't believe that hero will launch a bigger capacity impulse anywhere in the near future.

Please share your thoughts and correct me if I've been wrong. Thank you.
