Could anyone confirm the quantity of fork oil needed per fork leg in the Impulse? I'd like to try using the 'heavy' fork oil from Motul and see what difference it makes.

It has been mentioned somewhere in this thread earlier.
At least use search feature if you can't be bothered to read the entire thread.

Thanks for the most helpful reply. I'd rather not crown your helpfulness with an answer, but I did use the search feature on this thread and used Google search as well with no definite/reliable answers. The members who posted in this thread are not sure themselves. I wouldn't want to read 218 pages of text to discover a 3 digit figure either, thanks very much.

PS: I searched once again before typing this reply just to be sure.

Could anyone else tell me if they know for sure for the quantity of fork oil needed per fork leg please? I don't have an owner's manual and don't know if it is mentioned in there. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the service manual or owners manual? That must have thr fork oil drian interval etc and volume.
Also, go for w20 (heavy is mentioned on the bottle)fork oil from motul comes in a 350 ml bottle.

It clearly states in the manual:
              Front Fork oil at disassembly - 176cm3 = 176ml

If someone had any different experience, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Thanks, I saw that site too. Don't know if it is accurate so I asked here.

Gosh, this is turning out to be rather tiresome. Too much of off-topic replies to get around to discovering a simple answer.

I want to do the oil change myself so I asked here after searching. Too little oil will ruin the fork action and the springs and too much oil will cause the forks to become hard and/or bust the oil seals. So I wanted to be sure.

First I'm told to read 218 pages or use the search feature and next I'm told to wait in line to sit on the nearest sofa. Lovely!

I wonder what I'll encounter next?

                Edit:
                Thanks Krishna Gopal Das

If u go by rto rules, adding any additional light or replacing any existing lights with non OEM is against the rules

finally done with my 10th scheduled service @ 25000 Km. new disc pads front + brake fluid change + new shoes rear (braking is still absolute crap), new air filter, oil filter & fully synth Shell oil (engine still feels like it suffers from arthritis - a lot of times splendors overtake me with pillions), got wheel alignment done AGAIN (still won't ever ever run in a straight line, feels like both wheels are punctured), chain has to be replaced since it is making a terrible racket - but no surprises there: hero doesn't have chain+sprockets in stock. it took me 4-5 different showroom visits just to get hold of brake shoes and pads, almost had decided to buy/fit pulsar ones or any other similar solution.

i really wish i could ride this motorcycle more but the horrible, dangerously unstable ride quality just makes me cringe every time i have to get on this thing.. contemplating getting an activa/jupiter/wego for commuting and daily usage instead of this now..

                            Hi All Impulse owners,

Bought my NEW Impulse last Sat, my second bike. First was R15.

Belssed with the tak-tak sound when i hit pot holes. Seems like coming from below the speedometer and behind the headlight. Will take this to the SVC, but dont know what to look out for... highly doubt the SCV walla will know what to do.

Will do the redg this week at Andheri RTO. Any one knows a good agent please share number.

Special Thanks to : Anoop, Suyog and Deep.

                              Hi Guys,

                              First post, YAY!

Alright. I've been following this thread quite closely for the last 2-3 days and although there are few niggles in the bike, I really admire it. So I'm getting a 2012 Impulse done about 5000kms for 60K in Bangalore. The bike was registered in 2014 though. The owner is quoting 60K for the bike (Bangalore used vehicle market is inflated anyways). Why I'm looking at impulse is because my Vespa is taking a toll on my back in Bangalore's traffic and pothole-ridden roads. I know I can go for a unicorn or something more comfortable, but I am looking for a stylish bike and Impulse has always captured my imagination ever since it launch, never had money though. And I was waiting for KTM Adventure, and owning that looks like a distant dream. So about this particular bike. It is in stock condition. And following is what I need to know from you guys?

                              1. Is 60K a good price for this bike? If not, what should be?
                              2. What all after-market fitments should I go for if I get the bike?
                              3. I may use this as 100-200kms touring, how will it fare?
                              4. Lot of you talk about chain problems in this bike. Any permanent fix?
                              5. I'm 5'11 about 95kgs. Will it pull my weight through easily?

Do let me know as I have a day or two to get back in touch with the owner.
