2. By permission I meant that ASC manager confirmed that warranty will not be affected by LEDs or any other minor mods. Cos i was bit concerned abt warranty of my bike.

Follow the checklist mentioned by [MENTION=62786]burnoutdee[/MENTION] and also don't forget to verify the engine and chasis number with RC book

I heard that except free flow exhaust and engine mod, warranty won't void for any other modifications.
And also Hero is giving 5 years warranty only for engine (correct me if I'm wrong).
Good news for fellow bikers, even K & N filter mod won't void the warranty

I would like to suggest against fitting K & N filters or for that matter any other filter, cos one of my friend installed a K&N filter for couple of weeks & removed it due to rains,
the sound of engine has changed now, on high revs its become like its an old bike. Cleaning the oil filter did not help either but there was lot of dirt n tiny particles in oil filter which i am sure were sucked in by air filter. Hence, I have chosen to stay away from any custom filter, dont want to harm the engine for trivial upgrade.

I have recently been to Sula Vineyard, Nashik with around 35 bikers from 3 different groups. All the way from Thane to Nashik we rode in 1-2 lanes as per road width @ steady speed of 80-85KMPH, we also crossed Kasara ghats in linedup formation and it was real fun. I have put a few images for ur viewing pleasure.

Distance covered - 380 Kms to & fro Kandivali to Nashik.

Roads were good esp. after leaving the city limits, smooth n unclogged.

Hi Guys...

Day before yesterday while riding on western express highway on flyover near metro mall kandivali my impulse went on reserve. I slowly tried to shift the nob to reserve position but with gloves on it took time and just after the flyover before I was on the left of the road it stalled. I tried to self start it but it did not start even after many attempts. I kick started it and rode to sion. Luckily I had to go for my third service yesterday. I went to mahim though I had bad experiences with them.

Now my battery is gone for warranty exchange which will take 10 days. they charged 720 Rs for engine flushing, carbon cleaning and chain lube. (No engine oil change, want to get rid of that pathetic hero oil) when I took delivery, after paying bill I noticed chain was not lubed and was dry. I called workshop manger and questioned him that this is what you charged me for, pointing to the chain.
Now I doubt about engine flushing and carbon cleaning. Chain is visible but how would I know about engine n carbon.
It was time for second polymer coating on my bike and that package of three coatings was taken at fortpoint mahim workshop. I could not go to any other workshop. Next time Noooooooooooo to mahim fortpoint service centre except for last coating.

Waiting for a new battery. Btw I have only 2900 kms on my odo. Surprised to know that there is problem in battery. :banghead: Now riding without battery, horn, self start and digital console.

please advise is it ok to ride your bike without battery? (around 10 days wait) And also suggest which engine oil is good for impulse. With hero oil gear shift is not smooth at all and engine heat up too much some times.

Sorry to hear about you bad experience at Mahim Fortpoint, But I would suggest you give it another try, and give your bike to Mr Kevin. He is the head mechanic over there very technically sound and a very humble man, When they make you job card list properly all that needs to be done and mention it clearly to them to give your bike to Kevin.

Did you give your bike to them yesterday? Is it a green impulse?

Yes I gave it yesterday but there was another green impulse also. Mine had a green seat cover on it.

I told them clearly everything while they made job card.

Told them

check head light focus. (don't know rectified or not)
From 1st gear to 2nd it falls to neutral with a loud sound. (not rectified)
Self start problem (battery gone for exchange)
Sound from front assembly (not rectified)
Lube everything that needs it. (did not lube even chain forget sidestand etc)

Dont know about regular servicing instructions given for every service. Air filter cleaning, fuel line inspections etc. (hope they do it)

First service was good but they charged me for oil that they did not change.

Second service was pathetic ( I had to put a complaint on hero website)

Third service (same story)

I did not know about Kevin but last time I talked to workshop manager who seems to be a humble man.

Hmm Kevin is the head mechanic, he is the only person there who speaks less and is working all the time . Next time if your going to them mention his name and they will write that too on the job card.

I remember seeing a green impulse the seat cover was not fully green, it was green and white if i recollect.

In city it gives me the same mileage as highway between 30-40

Anybody can help with a good mechanic for impulse in any service centres in Delhi NCR?

Need to get the khat sound from frond suspension ruled out.do not want to spend any money outside as the bike still under warranty.

Will remove that seat cover soon. didnt want to spoil stock seat cover during rains.
