Absolutely correct bro. Have seen other bikes do the same for ladakh trips. Mechs from ladakh or kashmir are experts at it.

Splendid roads while we approach Zoji La Pass from Drass. Great view of approaching rainfall on our way and we cross a water nallah in our Leh 2013 trip.

Yep.. you need to put the copper wire in the Jet to reduce the flow of petrol. Or get a smaller jet fitted before you go beyond 8000 ft.

To reach Leh 200 NS didnt require carb tuning, however, to go to Khradungla and Changla, Carb Tuning was required and after that the bike was awesome.

One more tip, before going to the leh trip you need to loosen the rear breaks so that it does not lock the rear disc.

Rest the bike is nice. Do apply stickers on the back seat panels where the Saddle Bags are hung as these areas do get a lot of beating on rough roads and tend to lose color.

Even if u feel its not enough to block the splashes. Then there is an option to extend the mud guard like this -

Ha ha hah a

Its DIY (DO IT YOURSELF) kind of MOD bro. i did it my self

see the pic carefully.

In circle 1 - u need to chop a bit of extra piece as how i have done with a small saw or acser blade ( dnt know how to spell it)
In cirlce 2 - just fit a bolt n nut n add spring washers also n tighten it on both sides.

Spotted one with a GoPro camera (probably) fitted near Khardungla .. Maybe another video is already out for us

Hi huntersvk.

From where u took impulse on rent. I am planning to ride to Ladakh next year. I own one but just curious if I can rent one over there then will be saved from alot of management of taking bike in train etc.

bavlo,
Lots of shops in Leh were offering Impulse for rents (600-650rs per day) apart from the pulsars and enfields.
(near Main bazaar road --> Zangsti Road and Changspa Road)

------------

Since mine was less than a month old and yet to get even first service, din't take mine.
However will definitely take mine next year or 2015 for my second trip.

its better to take your bike than take a rented one.. just a suggestion..

Hi friends... need your suggestion . will it be good if i buy a used IMPULSE , 5 months old but ran 9000 km @ 50000 rs?? The bike looks good and scratch free . I own a karizma and dont want to sell my bike , but cant make myself stop buying IMPULSE . Should I go for this used one or I should go for a new one (then i ll have to sell karizma) ? need your suggestion .

Impulse is a very good bike if not excellent!

IMHO, do take the bike for at least 10KMs ride to get good feel of it, I do not know too much about motorcycles yet I would check the following if I were to buy a used bike.

1. Listen closely to engine by putting it on stand, rev it n notice the climbs n falls of RPM (Silencer, firing issues?)
2. Confirm that wiring is not fiddled with.
3. Battery is good & all electricals are working good.
4. Wheels not out.
5. Chain & Sprocket not worn out.
6. If the bike was ever involved in accident (Fork & Chassis issues?)
7. Tyres
8. No work has been ever done on Engine!

If above mentioned points are clear then I dont think there should be anything to stop me from buying a used bike. Dont forget to Bargain though.

Hope this helps!

Regards.

Thanx for trying out dat mod. n yes keep 1 finger gap betweeen the tyre and the hugger at the bottom.

Keep checking if it gets loose or not. if it gets loose then u need to put a small hole just above the existing hole as there r 2 holes in the place wher the reflector is fitted. so totally u can fit 2 bolts n nuts on single side n yes then 100 % i wont move a bit now wil get lose n touch the tyre....

Cheers
