Bought it from Grant Road, Mumbai for Rs. 900. and Rs. 200 for fixing it as it involves a bit of work. There are 2 inch of soild metal rod inserted on both side of handle bars which needs to be removed by grinding and welding.

(Pic took on 1st day )

Hi All Impulse owners
I bought Impulse 11 days back and completed 300+ kms . I am also facing same THAK THAK sound from front problem any suggestion or help on that side .
Will go for first service in next 10 days which engine oil i should go Shell or Motul or any other.
I am planning to change spark plug to NGK IRidium which one I should go NGK CR8EIX or DPR8EIX and what about ignition cable (Splitfire).
Knuckle Guards any suggestions .
Any idea after how many kms on odometer air filter (K & N RC1060) modification is suggestive.

How much you paid for it? In my opinion nothing is serious.

RPM wire which is connected to front wheel must be broken - if that's the case then it will be quick n cheap to fix but if your console is gone bad (since u r saying clock is stuck too) then u'll have to get it replaced as its very less likely that it can be repaired. Visit the HERO ASC if possible n do not listen to any mechanic unless you get the satisfactory resolution from couple of experienced people abt this matter.

Bro, RPM cable is not connected to the front wheel. But i believe the RPM cable can be faulty, regarding the clock, did you try resetting it? If that doesnt work, just remove the battery terminals and put them back, it resets the chip used for the time, speed etc

Yeah u r right that's the speedo cable. My bad! I forgot that it's speedometer is digital the RPM counter is analog.

You suggested the correct thing to reset the console and reseat battery connections. Way to go viks!

yes I did.. but clock is showing 3.54 always. and When I on the bike that moment the RPM is moving but when i am riding the bike it is not. Is it the CONSOLE FAULT ? but the rest things are ok , like speedo and KILOMETER . What should I do now ?

Guys finally got my battery replaced from hero under warranty. Exide returned it and refused to exchange but hero moto corp replaced it. Thanks to Kundan (workshop manager at mahim ASC) who was polite and helpful. first time in last 8 months I enjoyed feather touch self start.

Guys recently I have observed that under panic breaking situation rear tyre skids which is very scary at times. Rear break is very weak and sudden increase in pressure on front break throws rear tyre off line. Seniors please help and suggest. Is there something wrong with my breaking. I usually apply both with more front at higher speeds and more rear break at very low speeds. I apply more front as speed increases.

way to go and learn.

Love, peace and light.

It's better u stick to same 10w30 oil provided by Hero for 1st couple of services after that try Shell advance 10w30 n i read Motul is good too but i haven't used it yet.
