Thanks for the credits my dear
bike looks damn awesome now
Nice to know @surya111 that u brought those guards for @dragon_rider..in mumbai its nex to impossible to get them now. U can get cheap colored ones though but not these.
For ur better understanding Surya I have put the image; there should be equal distance between that line on tyre and rim(pointed by arrow).
Rear wheel does wobble if tyre not fitted properly as per its groves n also if the tube is not of correct size.
Hope it helped, if not then feel free to ask more questions buddy.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Hi I found 1 problem I tried to googled out but not sure whether it clutch slipping or something else
Whenever I am riding my bike on top gear ( 4 or 5) at proper speed and RPM suddenly i can see revv going up like spike and can feel small jerk on rear wheel is.
is it really clutch slipping how can i resolve these problem and also big clunk sound on 1stgear
(I am already done with 1st service @ 550 kms and its 700 + on odo )
thanksLast edited by harshmane; 10-05-2013, 09:29 PM.

Hi buddy,
What u have mentioned is the result - "Rev/RPM increasing n jerk on wheel" but can u share the symptoms like what/ when exactly does it happen? Bike wont rev up unless u twist the throttle hence thrs No chance of RPM goin high like that. Do u feel any abnormal movement in ur throttle or how's the clutch working? Cos I have crossed 5k mark on odo n nvr experienced any sudden jump in rev even when idling. Please take another ride, experience/feel the issue n share, it will b helpful for u n for us as well.
U r mixing up 3 issues -
1. Jump in rev
2. Jerk in rear wheel
3. Clutch slippage
To avoid big clunck sound on first gear, dont engage the gear when RPM is high. If its still makin that sound then maybe the idling RPM is higher than required.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Hey Guys,
I am happy to share that my Impulse has covered 5500+ KMs in 4 months. Been on couple of long trips, otherwise just the city run.
She has been performing extremely well, so far I have only installed Iridium spark plug n no other mods. The best part about rides is the comfort n the commanding stance it provides on-road or off-road. Its so silent that at times I feel like i am riding on an electric bike, 1-3 gears does give negligible thump but on 4-5th gears above 50+ speed n the firing changes just to a turbocharger like sound, which gives the feeling that its asking for more even if its doing 90 already. It doesn't shake or rattle beyond 100KMPH but yes it does have an odd sound at those speeds.
This bike is capable of touring as well, I rode this bike for hours at a stretch without any fatigue apart from knee pain due to staying in same position for longtime; no back aches whatsoever. Even after a day long ride n sight seeing of 350KMs return, I was not feeling tired. Only little complaint I have is it's headlight, its very weak n focus is not easy to set, even though its controlled by the screw below headlamp...maybe I'll have to work more on it to get it right or else I'll install an additional light on side guard for better night visibility.
Can anyone suggest me a helmet which can block wind noise to a good extent, I have friends who have LS2, Sparx n SOL but I dont want that heavy n expensive helmet. Currently I am using a glossy black, tinted glass - Vega Formula HP.
Things I do to maintain my Impulse:
1. I tighten n lube the chain with 90w oil at regular intervals
2. Oil the clutch n brake levers almost every fortnight
3. Wash n Polish every month
4. Check oil level regularly
5. Avoid unnecessary mods like fiddling with electricals n exhaust system
6. Keep optimum tyre pressure n above all avoid rash driving like plague
7. Check all the nut, bolts if they r tight enough
8. In city I avoid riding it at 50+ , never cross the 5K RPM mark on Impulse, unless required.
Most importantly - Start the bike n let it be on idle for about 30secs -1 min everytime when ur bike was parked for more than an hour. Because the oil tends to drain down from engine parts back to engine bowl.
Please share ur experience with your Impulse and maintenance tips too.

Petrol pump wala says "sports bike"
Office people says "Monster bike"
thrice being asked by Carwala about cost and cc's all

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Strongly agree. When i was riding on devbag beach in goa on my impulse, an aussie was enquiring about it to me. He wanted to ride it on the beach and offered 10 Aussie dollars for it but i gave him a ride for free (atithi devo bhava)Originally posted by harshmane View PostPetrol pump wala says "sports bike"

The best comment i have heard is "hey thats a bmw bike na" and i was smiling inside my helmet.
People really stare when i had screaming cosworth filter in it.
