I asked a spares shop in chembur in the opposite lane to shopper's stop. He has 19T and 47T chain sprocket kit, but he advised me to go for 18T front and 45T rear chain sprocket kit.
Rolon costs 1700 (o ring type)
          Rolon linked type for 1150
          Diamond linked type for 850
Diamond ka o ring type unavailable.
Im still skeptical on sprocketing though.

For couple of months now the RPM meter light was ON even after turning OFF the motorbike and disengaging the key.The reset button was also stuck and failed to work .SC mechanic checked it out and replaced the meter assembly under warranty. The assembly costs Rs2800 without warranty . The new meter starts from 0kms , i had done 24700kms on the old meter.I wish there was some way of transferring the reading. I have also ordered clutch plates Rs1200 . The tyres are 90% gone , had the first puncture few days back at 24300kms .

Has any body added a rear disc brake to the impluse? There is a thread where the Fazer has been given a rear disc brake http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/general-...-others-4.html.

Yes, I installed the rear disk brake more than a year back from local expert here in Pune. No issues till now, works perfectly. Costed me 8k in May 2012.

                      hai joe..........

                      your findings are right......

these are the findings i felt on impulse

worth for money...each and every part of the bikes ,,,,,compared to newer bikes in india.. 1 steel wheels and rims instead of cheap cost cutting alloy wheels
2 tall design and huge size of the vehicle....no bikes in india can compare with impulse on this ...even enfield cant
                      3 ground clearance.......no competitor
4 front wheel size....competitor..only enfield......no other four stroke bikes in this segment
5 rear wheel size big........same as yamaha fz.......check out fzs price compare to impulse......
6 and check out price of 150 cc bikes in india....you will wonder....no other companies in india and around the world can provide these much facilities in this price range

                      and .......

1 power. i dont bother about this .....same honda unicorn engine 150 cc....
2 but the torque .....very sad ....difficult to ride in cities...frequent gear shifts needed...this case.. yamaha fz is the best choice.even on highways too
3 rear brake..........huge engineering failure........you cant stop your impulse using rear brake......you are in danger if you ride this bike above 50 kmpl per hour,,,,,,,,,only option is use front disk brake ....... i do use only front brakess .but rainy seasons........this too dangerous

4 front suspension..beware........its stiff .so some shocks needed for its working.( i mean small bumpy roads).... it doesnt work properly on neat highways or roads..........if you ride on superb highways or roads on rainy season and take curves ..i am 100% sure you will fall
5 this is not a pure off road bike........you can do off roading on a normal way....but not as a racers style..front suspension is as slim and not fit to absorb heavy shocks from jumps and etc
6 chassis is also normal not so strong as it cant afford heavy style of offroading
7 why this bike was not successful.???........ because of the fly mud guard ..a normal man thought...this bike meant only for racers..

but as far as price and features are considered...this is the best bike

HELLO EVERYONE I am new to this website.I own a green Impulse .i have read the previous posts u guys are awesome,it's really helpful for newbie.
It feels great like a king when riding this. Now i am having a problem in my bike when i turn my HEADLIGHT ON my SPEEDOMETER'S LIGHT (orange) turns OFF and reverse ,when riding the bike at night it becomes difficult to know the speed of the bike and fuel availability. Anyone knows how to solve this problem, whether this is a meter problem or wiring problem.Speedometer works but the problem is with its light because in day time no problem but at night speedometer light turns OFF , to get the orange light i have to OFF the HEADLIGHT.

                              hey guys

i had an accident on my impulse.. **** all accident.. two drunk guys hit me and blah blah..
damage to the bike is a bent crash guard that saved my leg and a broken right rearview miror..
i gave the bike for its second free service yesterday and was outraged that they dont have any spares for the impulse. i plan to lodge a complaint with hero corporate about this soon but will need to replace the crash guard and mirror.. any idea where i can get them in chennai? also i want to put good knuckle guards.. the kind that come with the duke 390.. any suggestions???
