Brother Shivanshu , you'd better check Ankit's facebook albums , some amazing rides !
Yaah definitely. Its aluminium that has been melted and casted into the hole ! Alike gas welding.

Very soon I will be coming to Dehradun will meet you then. Also do you use the stock headlights or have modified it. Give me a link to your FB photos of your Impulse.

Also I would like to have some advice: My Bike has done around 650kms now, I am not taking her above 6000rpm. I am riding almost 70kms everyday with her. The ride is a mix of traffic, straight roads, jams, potholes and all. I have started noticing the change in Engine Sound, for me it seems that tappets are getting loose or something in Engine when it gets hot. Is this natural or is their something I need to look into?

      Any suggestions?????

Sure pal. Do come to Ddun !
Headlights are still stock still. Though ive had thoughts on making it better but usual all day riding and touring also being in daytime always didn't got me desperate much to fiddle around with the lightning of the bike. Though i tried a couple of LED lights and bulb swaps but they are no worth. The AC on the bike doesnt do much justice to the lights. Either ill go complete DC on the bike or HIDs but thats ideas. I don't think i would be going in for that since i don't do much night running !

Ohh and here's a link my profile on fb
        Facebook पर पोस्ट, फ़ोटो और बहुत कुछ देखें.

Go across the albums if you wish to !

And...tappets usually don't get loose over mere 650 kms of riding. Engine sound is likely to change ! And also tappets should be a little loose than the stock ! My Impulse is 30,000kms now on the ODO of sheer abusing and several tours ! Ive adjusted the tappets only thrice ! So wont be the tappets i guess. Might be a lil psychological ! Get it down to 800km mark get the oil changed ! Might help !
Ohh and btw its a Honda's mill...wont snap that quick !
        Stay relaxed !

Thanks buddy, I did sent you a friend request on FB.

And yes I think it will be more psychological than normal. Though I have started pulling the bike upto 6K mark RPM, but I dont go constant on that RPM and it seems to be a bit of fun.

About Lights I was told not to touch the setting of the circuit. Just get a plug and play LED Bulb and it will be good enough. So lets see how it goes.

For now my priorities are :

          1. Shocker Boots
          2. Handle Guards

Then I will see what has to be done next, will let you know when I am coming to Chaar Dukaan for wai wai

Stock carb ! With minor tweaks to cope with the altitude sickness (common problem with all impulses). Why do you ask?

I have a plan to visit Leh with my Impulse hence asked. Yeah I keep watching your post here regarding Carb mod so asked you particularly.

I stay in Tamilnadu, bike will be transported to Delhi through train or truck. Shall I put karizma jet now? Later on, no need to tweak carb in Leh?

Karizma's mainjet is 126 in size. It will do a little good but upto 10-11000ft above sea level ! You wont cross higher passes above 12000ft later.
You can carry smaller jets with yourself ranging from 112-120. Smaller jets wont be good on low heights and larger ones wont be good on high passes. So you'll be fiddling around with the carb every now and then... Installing & removing jets hoping and fighting with the correct setting.
Either you can do this !
Or simply get your Impulse's carb wired at Manali or Keylong ! The mechanic will take hardly 50-100rs and you'll be all good to go through all passes from there to Leh & back !
Get the wire removed on the way back !

Finally my 225 cc Red Impulse is up and running. Bought a Karizma engine some 5 months back for Rs. 4,000/- in a box. Few parts were missing and oh boy Karizma parts are also hard to find in the Hero spares shop here in Siliguri. The engine grunts and feels better than the stock 150 engine. Its done about 600 kms now and I love the surge in power. Took it for a 350 kms ride yesterday. Highway cruising was done at 5,000 rpm, 5th gear, 75 kmph. Didn't want to push it yet. My black Impulse has a front 15 T sproket from Hero Xtreme and the top speed is only 95 kmph (pillion and luggage). This Red bike has 17 T on it so it should go faster.

I have a problem with the 225 cc engine. It gives a shrill noise while decelerating. I have heard from mechanics that the clutch gives that noise if its a bad after market product. Is it the only place from where that sound can come? Please help.
