Half a month now....the slide is working great. infact had a fellow friend with the same problem...Will post the walkthrough with pics if i get that rectifying !
I have a spare Karizma Carb lying around.
26mm is the carb with mainjet size smaller than that of Impulse's 132 ...will try that soon. No slide problems whatsoever and the carb is bound to run awesome on impulse !

I was bit irritated with the tail, so replaced it with the custom made tail tidy.

picked up a pre-owned recently. starting to like it..
the bike had quite a few issues but i guess its part of the deal. now getting everything sorted.
got it supersized to 180cc, a free flow exhaust. pretty decent improvement in power, more fun to ride now..

With an year gone by and 25000kms on the ODO vibrations have started to seep in. It was yesterday when it happened where pulling the bike up from lower rpms and while doing so on one higher gear than usual...it vibrated bad !

The vibration being surely caused at the time of accelerating the bike up to 5000rpm max. Vibes are absent beyond this ! The vibes start around the footpegs or the transmission case somewhere and climb up to the front end up to the handlebars and headlight !

Hi all,

I have been reading this thread for quite sometime. Interesting stuff. I thought I should also join and here I am. I love riding my Impulse and its one of the most interesting bikes that I have seen come in the Indian motorcycle market. I bought a pre-owned Impulse (for Rs. 55,000/-) and have been enjoying it almost everyday. I have added some stuffs to the bike to increase its utility. Click image for larger version

Finally got my hands on honda unicorn 150 vacuum piston diaphragm,
It was a direct fit for impulse and runs great too.

And guys you can use hydrogen peroxide to clean the smoked slide it does the job pretty well.

Hey Folks,
Here are few pics from a little offroading session yesterday. Got it orange wrapped..leave a good empty space to fill in later on..
180cc transformation turned out pretty awesome.. had great fun with my buddies ..sliding and jumping and what not..
only followed by tragic chain snapping.
had a good session but the chain snapped right when we were starting to head back home. My bike has a rear hub of cbz or may be some other bike..the dealer made solid jugaad for the same. but only ruining all the fun as the sprocket is also 46 teethed and out of alignment resulting in chain slack and twisting.
so finally getting the entire rear hub, spokes replace with the original.
will share more stories soon. attachin few pics of the jugaad and few from the session.

Sanket_R15: Nice Pics. Have you thought of changing the rear brakes to discs? I have been thinking of it but not able to find out what parts I should use. I read somewhere, somebody used a RTR rear disc assembly. The hub was modified or changed and I have no idea how. I think he was still running on 50 T rear sprockets.

yes i have been thinking about the rear disk.. infact shane#1, ingenioisnut and me are friends and ride together and we all have tried talking to the mechanic who did the overall engine work on my bike as well as shane#1's..
nothing solid option came out yet. also the expense told to us for the same was near 15k. so we are still looking for best way and options possible.
will update here is come across anything.

althought of few reasons i kind of feel like sticking to the drum brakes..

An acquaintance of mine had a rear disc installed on impulse ! Cost around 6-7000rs (pulsar's disc and assembly).
Useless on riding terms because on a light bike like impulse the rear locks up in a slit second throwing the bike's balance off. Either one needs to still master over the rear disc on dirt tracks or stick with the rear drums as they are gradual and potent enough for many sorts ! While on the grounds of aesthetics one might crank that beauty up a notch with that !

Thank you for the invite but venue too far at short notice. However, I am glad to inform that we were able to conquer Sandakphu. I had huge power loss due to thin air at the altitude we were riding at. 1st, I had to remove the air filter to get some power and later I had to do the wire in the main jet to get to the top of Sandakphu. It was an amazing experience.

It never struck my mind...hmm...yes it could lock up the rear frequently on dirt and wet conditions. Sure looks good on the bike. A friend of mine said the mechanics get the drum section filled up with aluminum and the holes drilled and threaded by a reliable machinist to fit the disc. I may go for this modification using a small radius disc or small cross section pad to avoid lockup (just a future project). I am currently rebuilding a karizma engine to fit on my bike.
