Its done about 600 kms now and I love the surge in power. Took it for a 350 kms ride yesterday. Highway cruising was done at 5,000 rpm, 5th gear, 75 kmph. Didn't want to push it yet. My black Impulse has a front 15 T sproket from Hero Xtreme and the top speed is only 95 kmph (pillion and luggage). This Red bike has 17 T on it so it should go faster.

I have a problem with the 225 cc engine. It gives a shrill noise while decelerating. I have heard from mechanics that the clutch gives that noise if its a bad after market product. Is it the only place from where that sound can come? Please help.

            Hi Guys...
From last 2000 kms while riding impulse i was feeling loss in power. Throttle response was not crisp. Its 20000 kms on odo. I serviced bike and changed air filter, spark plug and cleaned carb. Bike ran good for 3-4 days but then it started struggling to climb after 3000 rpms. Got it checked and mechanic told me to put new clutch plates. Achiver's plates were installed but problem persisted. We again opened the carb and found that slide was stuck. Cleaned it again, oiled it but no gains. I know many of us has faced this problem here with the carb and slide. Has any one found permanent solution? Should i go for a unicorn slide and install it? I just don't feel like riding my bike any more.

Get the fuel tap, tappets clearance, Chain sprocket checked. I suspect the tappet clearance.

And another (maybe) characteristic problem of the Impulse A broken slide needle ! It has happened now twice ..first at 30k and second at 32K on the odo !
This was a month back at Rohru Himachal Pradesh returning from Chanshal pass when the bike wont get above 3000rpm mark due to the slide breaking from the near top (pretty much makes sense). Ordered at the agency at Hero, a month gone by it isn't available yet !
Also the slide get sucked into the engine the first time when i throttled my bike a lot after the needle broke (unaware me at that time). The second time it happened i didn't throttled the bike hard, as soon as the vehicle started refusing climbing the revvs up from the 2500-3000rpm mark ! I knew instantly it would be the slide. I opened the carb to remove the jet and turn it upside down to get the remaining part of needle out (sweet)! So just in case any of you witness the same breakdown in future don't aggressively throttle the mill (not so sweet) when it won't revv as it might be the needle and it can get suck into the engine !

The rear tyre is a 100/90-17 MRF Meteor. It fits directly. Its a good tyre and has not given me any problems so far. But I would still prefer the original CEAT Gripp-XL. I heard the Gripp-XL rear tyre costs around 5k in Chennai due to scarcity.

                      Hi Guys...
Thanks for your immediate response and advice. Yes i changed the vacuum piston. It is readily available in mumbai. It seems running parts are now easy to source though i cant say about body parts. Bike is running fine now but it feels little sluggish... May be because of 20W40 oil or fine tuning of AFR is required.

Smoked slide and new one pics are attached...

I got it from asian motors mira road. I am sure you will get it at local spare parts stores too. I had enquired about clutch plates and they were available at many stores though you will get achiver's.

Hey guys, really need help with parts for my ride. I have ordered at our Hero dealer more then a month ago, but still no word.

                              Part number 91051KYJ711S

My mechanic calls them "ball racers" these are the bearings for the steering. I need TWO of these as I need to replace both, top and bottom and they are identical.

If anyone can help, PM me. I am willing to pay for the parts, shipping and something for your time.

That is a bearing made by SKF.
Note down the bearing number (the one stamped on the bearing) and ask at a local spares shop or an skf dealer in your area.
You might also find a similar bearing from other companies such as nbc. Just use the part number stamped on the bearing.
