Hey Guys,
M new to the group and reside in Borivali (Mumbai)
Got my KTM duke on Friday 24th Feb 2011 and got it registered in the next week at RTO - number MH-02-CN-8006
Till now clocked 650 kms with a short Trip to Igatpuri on Sat and return on Sunday evening to Mumbai (halt at Igatpuri - Dew Drops)
Route - Mumbai - Manor - Kherdi - Kasara - Igatpuri
Return - Igatpuri - Kasara - Shahpur - Thane - Mumbai
(290 kms)
Handling is superb, connnering on Kasara Ghats was mind blowing.
Speed - kept it between 6k & 7k RPM
Mileage recd throuht out the trip (highway run)- 35kmpl
City Mileage - 42kmpl (if kept under 5k or 6k RPM)
Touring is possible on this bike,
Was expecting some windblast however didnt felt it much,
City Riding - Fun to ride but be safe as the acceleration is very aggresive and very tempting to accelerate more
It was awesome ride to Igatpuri (specially climbing Kasara Ghat).... soon will go on for a short night ride (Dhaba ride) - approx 200 kms: to & fro
getting it serviced hopefully in this week or next week

Can you put up the pics of crash pad?Originally posted by sahil_killer View PostGot my duke on the 27th of feb,i have done about 800 kms as of now and cant get enough of the bike till now.just feel like ridding it more and more. When someone asks me hows is the bike i can say only one thing...it ntn like ny of the bikes available here ...its got its own league. As there was a lot of discussion about the FE of the bike,my first full tank was normal fuel as i could not power or xtra premium...the bike gave me a FE was 38kmpl,both city and highway ridding included but mostly was city. Also got the msg for the power parts bought the tank cap sticker, tank pad and the crash pads.Three of them costed me 554 rs. All the power parts we put by the mech at the service center and he put the tank cap sticker wrong but dint wanna make it an issue cos i dint want that poor mech to pay.
Also, if you have the cost breakup, please let us know.

Dealer location for common add-ons for the duke?
Got my Duke two weeks ago, and have clocked over 1200 kms now. First service done. Bike still doing great, and nothing dissapoints yet.
A question for the Mumbaikar Duke owners, where can i get a good tank pad (that doesnt empty my pockets) and a seat cover, since there are cats in my building, and they tend to scratch the seats some times. Also during long rides the stiff cushioning can get a little tiring and a added confort to the rear is always welcome. Also, there are a few owners in other cities who are doing a 3M coating job on the bike, and if anyone knows reliable people in Mumbai who can handle a bike well, i'm all ears.
I'm also looking forward to adding the original crash pads and would like to know if any of the KTM stores have got them here yet?

Congrats Rafa!Originally posted by rafa View Posthey shubz...now we're riding our dukes

The powerparts are trickling in - but are going to drill a deep hole in the pocketsOriginally posted by joshzma225 View Post@Shubz Any leads on the cost and availability of the KTM Alarm system + immoblizer?
15000 as mentioned by somone else on this.Originally posted by santhosh443 View PostAny idea how much is ktm jacket going to cost in india ??
25 for the front, 30 for the rear. didn't ask how much with pillion on etc.Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostWhat are the tyre pressure that needs to be maintained with and without pillion, while the tyres are breaking in and post break in as per manual and svc guys?
A "khat" kind of noise does show up when going over a speed breaker or a cut in the road. Had taken it to ther service center to have it checked. They could not reproduce the issue. Neither could I. I will try to notice the sound again after I finish work (at 2:30 am)Originally posted by samschenker View PostNV I can hear the noise from the headlamp any idea what the fix for the issue is?
IIRC the bush installed by Shubz was to reduce noise from rear foot rest.
Thanks saar

No bush was placed for the foot rest - just an extra washer.
I got the PP film on my tank (designated place for a tank pad) and on the front of the front mud guard - cost around 700 INR.Originally posted by devil_rider View Postwhat is the cost of PP film from 3M?
sir it was a pleasure meeting you on Sunday morning. Though it was a fleeting meet, not sure if you would still be able to recall me.Originally posted by gsferrari View PostHi everyone.
I was at the PBK outlet on Sunday morning to be a part of some video shoot and I was shown 80 odd dukes in the basements of PBK Indiranagar and 3 guys were taking them to the Khivraj showrooms for deliveries.Originally posted by venkatramanp View PostAny idea how the wait list is clearing in Bangalore?
I personally did not like the way they were riding it out of the basement though!
Power parts/wear have started arriving but definitely they are very highly priced.
A KTM jacket off ktmhutt.com costs $199 (they do not ship to India though)
Important: A price hike is around the corner. Bookings are going to stop soon. Back log cleared. Some promotions in the media and then the Duke is going to cost more - say by 20/30K

I think this info was clear from the starting itself, it was clearly said at the launch that this was an introductory price only, and original price will be higher than this. But the time period for the introductory price wasn't mentioned i think.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostReally? From where did you get this information? Showroom or Media or some contacts?

Ya, servicing & repairs is something that bound to be bothersome.......riding all the way to tvm is not appealing.
but i heard from some friends that there is a PBK in Kochi, in edapally .....gotta confrim it though
Minor things like engine oil change, brake oil, coolant fillin/bleeding is pretty straight forward and can be done with proper care and parts.
U can check out the manual for KTM 125 at KTM's site. It's the same as 200.

Buy a dozen of them and sell it hereOriginally posted by santhosh443 View PostI don't know why every thing comes costly for us ... In china also ktm (jacket+pant) costly 10k.
I would buy one off you. Seriously contending to buy the KTM Jacket from US (someone was to get it for me - but I did not buy it online as I was hoping the India jackets would be priced better - but no!)
