You might goof up regarding customs if the order is more than 25k (correct me with the amount)...
So if you have a bulk requirement then order it in parts...
Site is good.sigpic

I was planning on getting a good helmet and a pair of gloves preferably priced low ... Any suggestions... I am not ready to invest more than 3-5 k for helmet and not more than 1.5-2k for gloves and also planning on investing on the rim stickers by ktm... Other parts seem to be overpriced however I might consider the crash pads...
If u want to refer the price details of power parts av a look at my older post today...
Any suggestions???

I guess Inder is right about local shops preference to be first.
Okay ill explain you how this works.
Lets take an example of jackets...
You select a brand say Astars one...Sizing plays an important role here. Buddy once you order it there is no turning back and if it doesnt fit you then you will be having a hard time selling it again. My gloves are bit loose but they work kinda fine but not good...
Also i wouldnt suggest you to buy from this site as it is overpriced compared to Motorcycle Superstore - Motorcycle Accessories and Motorcycle Gear. This is where you can get good gear at a decent price. Now the twitch is they dont deliver in India. So if you have a friend or bro/sis coming from states they can bring along, but again the size plays and important role.
About riding gear I preferable feel that you should try them out, move around a bit, a small test ride and then decide should you buy it or not, even if its KTM, DSG or even AStars... The thing is you should be comfortable..
If budget is the problem then I suggest wait for a while but buy good gear which will protect and fit you good during rides....
Again the customs might held up for no reason where you will have to run here and there and waste equal amount of money...
Inder is stating the same thing here, go for local stuff which is not that bad either. Brands like Rjays and DSG are good enough for Indian riding which is not more than 150kmph speeds... Good enough bro!!!
Sorry if this is OT but a crucial point about imports regarding gears just got solved.sigpic

With your advice, i have browsed the planetdsg website and yes, it suits my needs (i guess, i would surely visit some showrooms here in chennai with my friends - do suggest if you know any where i could get reasonably priced helmets and gloves)...
I did short list a few from the dsg collections (which i guess would be good enough for indian city riding / touring - I aint a track rider ;-) ... well said by you on that front "Brands like Rjays and DSG are good enough for Indian riding which is not more than 150kmph speeds... Good enough bro!!!"...
For gloves:
DSG MotoMesh Gloves: Black (Rs.850 only!!!)
DSG Revive Gloves (Rs. ~ 2K)
link - Gloves
For helmets:
Not sure if anything from the site would suit my needs

so planning to take up brands like "VEGA or studds" or something from a city showroom ... just need to find a good stuff that suits the look of KTM

Suggestions are welcome!!!Last edited by rjswaroop2004; 03-13-2012, 06:20 PM.-Jyo-

Jacket wise, chennai is hot. So go for mesh ones and not textile...
Helmets please avoid using two piece ones and VEGA...
LS2, Sparx and cross can suit your budget....
Isnt KTM going to provide helmets for owners, dont they have it in the power parts list???sigpic

Hmmm well, thanks for the advice... abt the gloves... will search fr that one...Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostThe best combo is DSG Full Gauntlet gloves - PRIMAL... They completely protect your wrist...

jackets - i dont actually prefer 1
... i have a local brand which fits well and good for low speed cruising and i used it only a couple of times for long rides (100 kms :P) rides in my ol enticer and that too during the months of nov-dec ;-)
And for the helmets(Sorry to say , but i dont understand what 2 piece helmet means ... I would prefer any helmet with a decent build quality that offers undisturbed view through the visor and also allows the rider to have a look at the sides which most helmets fail to do causing even accidents - esp in chennai traffic)
I would be glad if i could get a sample of what you are suggesting for helemts ???
And well AFAIK, KTM does not provide them and also ... for now, only these are the pp's available @KTM
For the powerparts @ chennai :
tankpad @ Rs1450
Crashpads@2180
Rim Stickers @ 1270
Tankcap (Stickers???) @ 1820
Leather Jacket (size - L/M) - 14890!!!
Gloves (Black) - Size (L) @ Rs.5270 :S:S:S???-Jyo-

Yogesh - I was talking about the khat khat sound that emanates from under the console. Not the chain slapping against the swingarm.Originally posted by yogeshgehlot View PostKhat Khat sound comes when the chain touches the swingarm, Yogesh
Jyo - They are mesh jackets and not leather!Originally posted by rjswaroop2004 View PostLeather Jacket (size - L/M) - 14890!!!
They are a RIP-OFF for sure. The same jacket costs $199 on ktmhutt.com. Too bad I did not ask my friends cousin to buy it while on her way back from the US hoping they'd come up with a good pricing. Had been there just now to check it out, fit is amazing but the price isn't!

Hey could you tell me if the crashpads come in set or it is 2180 for each of the wheel. As per internet search i think both are separate piece. This is one powerpart i want. Next would be an akarpovic can and handlebar protectors. Any idea when these would be available.Originally posted by rjswaroop2004 View PostHmmm well, thanks for the advice... abt

Well, the crash pads were not kept for display but since they have mentioned it as "pads" I guess they would come as a set...Originally posted by rohitoasis View PostHey could you tell me if the crashpads come in set or it is 2180 for each of the wheel. The rest of the parts, when I asked the showroom guys, they had no clue but said that they would be made available sooner
And for the exhaust I hardly believe they would be made available for India (at least not off track)-Jyo-
