I got my delivery in bangalore today ... And bike is really awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

I just rode 10 km back to office after taking the delivery ...

          1) we can set the revlimter our self, When they gave me it was set to 10k rpm.. I have set it to 7500 rpm

          2) engine is getting very hot in bangalore temp only after riding for just 10km. Need to check why is it

          3) acceleration is mind blowingggggg.

          4) Best thing is it can literally run in any speed till 30 in any gear .....

          5) in 4th gear also bike can move from standstill ... its awesomeee ... reminds me of my old suzukhi max 100

Congratulations How are you planning to run her in? Did the KTM shop guys give any instruction on this? Also, are the accessories available? If yes, does the list include rim tape and front crash pad?

Well, It just shows a red light on the console once you reach/cross that rpm, right? Unlike in other bikes where there is a cut-off at that rpm.

And regarding the minimum fuel level, I have read the manual twice now, and Din't find any such info as to maintain a certain level of fuel. Will read it again and see if I missed it somewhere.

                  AWESOME pic..

                  • Hi all, I had a TD of the bike yesterday. I was only allowed a short ride of a couple of kilometres. The showroom people here in Bangalore were nice but not nice enough to give me a longer TD. And whats with all the form filling and formalities?

Exhaust note was far from being like a scooty. It felt nice and roary but with a kind of mechanical whirr. Though it sounded a bit puny from a distance.

The seating position felt kind of awkward. Relaxed upper and sporty lower. Im used to a more 'dirt bike' stance but the ride felt confident. A couple of times, I kind of had to look down to see whether my foot was on the gear shifter....but I was comfortable enough to start ripping through traffic. Its definitely 'ready to race'.

Very nice acceleration. The guy sitting behind me got thrown back so hard and so many times that he probably got sore arms from gripping the grabrails tight enough not to fly off.

I could barely read the console as I was riding. All I could notice was the blinking red revlimiter light in the centre telling me to shift up. Loks like it takes getting used to. The mileage indicator was showing something around 25 kmpl if I remember correctly.

I didnt find the brakes exceptional but it braked nicely. Handling and suspension felt like a mix between a dirt bike and a sports bike....corners were beaten, humps were disgraced and potholes were shamed.

After the ride was over, I found myself dreaming of roaring through traffic, finding excuses to take corners, flying over speedbreakers, jumping onto and off footpaths and all taht! I even rode my suzuki 150 that way for some time under the orange influence.

The present colours are too gaudy for my liking. Would have been nice if the black\green\purple colour scheme was there. + Didnt get to try the horns. Damn.

All in all, awesome bike. Definitely upto the hype. Congrats owners and to be owners. Hope to join the KTM club in 6 months if economics allow.

I got mine too! Already 60 kms on the Odo! Awesome acceleration, Excellent maneuverability. Great brakes! Poor horn. Hard hand grips.

Found some vibes at the foot pegs at around 45-50 kmph. Will have to run it more to figure out more stuff!

Rev limiter - I think mine is still at 10.5k or so - cos it did not redline when I revved it up to 8k (just once). Will have to get it set to 7500 tomorrow.

more feedback? here you go - No clunky gears! yet to get used to the 1st to neutral click. But gotten used to 2nd - neutral click though. I think it sputtered once or twice - it could be that I could've been on a wrong gear at a wrong rpm. 60 kms is nothing much to write home about. Except that it was fun to leave the other bikes puffing and panting to catch up from signal stops. And to occassional "Imported bike hai kya?" besides the omni-potent question "what is the mileage?" "30 kmph - oh what a waste, should give at least 50-60 - then worth importing" <heading towards a brick wall now>

I feel you never need to go to first gear once you started the bike ... so i guess its correct to go to neutral from 2nd gear ....
