What about RTR FI satyen? Afaik, it is 2L.

I usually don't go so low. So can't comment on the engine life. But it definitely doesn't feel good when you ride. The bike will start feeling a little sluggish.

Update: Check this post on TBHP. It indicates at recommended lower limit of ~4L. (Considering 40kmpl and 220KM range)

It could lead to fuel pump failure/damage as fuel pump uses petrol for lubrication & cooling.

As far as the minimum fuel to be maintained it will be mentioned in the owner's manual.

          FI Vs Carburetor (fuel efficiency)

I googled this & on some forums found that FI should give better FE than carburetor as everything is controlled electronically in FI system through sensors...
So how Duke has less FE than P200NS

              Hi,

For queries on fuel level and amount to be retained in the tank, i guess referring to the manual would help.

I am attaching a picture of the indicators that would light up and message we will get when the fuel level is low.

This is taken from DUKE 125 manual, so it will be more or less same with the DUKE 200. Hope it helps.

Well by this logic P200NS shouldn't have twice the FE compared to Duke as it also has fat rear tyre (130)

both front and rear tires of duke are fatter than pulsar 200..so it will be a major factor.
then the rpm also plays a major role. the duke is having more performance than the pulsar almost 0.3 secs faster in achieving 60kmph. duke gear ratios might be shorter than on pulsar. and the sprocket will also be bigger than pulsar.

all these are my observations..might be wrong.
and if we can trust wat bajaj is telling 3spark will also have a better FE than the single spark ktm.
                      Cheers

                      • Congrats to all the guys who got their KTM.
I took a TR last Saturday at Vasant Kunj PBK outlet. The staff was extremely polite & he knew lots of XBHP guys. As per him, Sunny, Old Fox & Praveer has bought KTM.
Took the short ride on the August Kranti Marg. First & foremost, bike is really smooth. Has a good seating position. Even the pillion seating position is, atleast, not worse than P220. I managed to hit 100 only within that short stretch. The rev cutter comes in quick for that bike. Can be altered though. Brakes are really awesome. I weigh around 80 kg. The showroom guys weighed around 70 kilos. Still the bike did in terms of acceleration & braking both. Did a roll on from 30, 6th gear but was getting jerked. From 40, it was good. Liked the bike way too much. Lights & display were good to read.

Just now waiting for 200 NS test ride.

I had a discussion with the Engine guys on my Org. They say that in case of Diesel Engine, Fuel pump is very important because it has to do high compression (Compression Ignition) in addition to spraying to get the fuel pressure to much more that 4 bars. Please note that major compression only takes place inside the Engine. If you have low fuel in tank, air bubbles might enter and damage the Fuel Pump.
But in Petrol Engines, spark plug does that job (Spark Ignition) & fuel pump only puts fuel in the cylinder at a particular pressure (~ 4 Bar, not a big compression) & generates heat. For cooling it, we need fuel. If air enters this system, it wont damage the Fuel Pump but the pump will get unnecessarily hot & gets damaged.

So yes u r correct. Thanks

And regarding the minimum fuel level, I have read the manual twice now, and Din't find any such info as to maintain a certain level of fuel. Will read it again and see if I missed it somewhere.
When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D
