I guess Venkat comprehensively answered your question on FB. Do you still need any clarification?Originally posted by rjswaroop2004 View Post
I would highly appreciate if any of u bike wiz's could read my previous posts and provide suggestions!!!
Perfectly explained!! And a couple of Dukers refused to believe me when I did tell them there is a small click and CLICK between 5 and 6 and vice versa!Originally posted by starscream1188 View PostThe duke needs to be slotted to gear a common thing usually in two strokes! (Strange for a four stroke though)
I ve noticed that when shifted normally there are two steps form 5 to 6 one way to over come that false neutral is following " You pep it You change the gear" The moment u start applying throttle shift up that is the smoothest way, the gear change will be seamless.
I guess a couple of others have asked "which place is this" and everybody has just said "some shop in koramangala"Originally posted by starscream1188 View PostGot it done from a sticker shop in Bangalore! Another xbhp member guided me to that place! Got it done for 200 bucks! Reflective type! Accentuates the look so much!
Is the shop address some super secret?

Dude! Chill! The duke though a four stroke is much like two stroker!Originally posted by rjswaroop2004 View Post

Any bike wiz out ther who can solve the problems faced by a fellow duker

???
Update - Now odo clocks 476 kms ...
I feel like the gear lever is kinda too hard to make the shifts, Esp downshifts... also the bike struggles while throttling after downshifting ... However on highr rpm it behaves well... Any idea wats wrong??? And also today I travelled in one of the worst possible traffic ya cud face... Not a shift above 2nd gear literally moved inch by inch for around 2 kms... The mileage gauge which showed 2.2L/100km suddenly dropped down to 6L/100km and web I reached home it showed 4.3L/kmsuch sudden n huge variations??? The engine however was too hot n radiator started working n it was on for like 15 mins... I would like to make sure my beloved duke is alright

false gears, hard shifts and an inaccurate mileage display with minimum coolant oil makes me worried
In short Im just concerned about the hard gear shifts , false shifts at times and the stressed engine at lower RPMs and lower gears...
I would highly appreciate if any of u bike wiz's could read my previous posts and provide suggestions!!!
Here s what you have to do when u downshift blip the throttle just a bit and then shift down! When you up shifting, "You Pep it You change the gear" There is a point when you are about to apply throttle at that point shift up you will have the smoothest up shift! Comes with a bit of practice just keep trying!

Swaroop.. I have done 250 odd kms on the duke in the last 4 days... The following is my shift pattern:Originally posted by rjswaroop2004 View PostHave been riding my duke ......For the ride, I maintain the ride at around 5-7.5k, at the max 8k rpm band(when puzzled in the useless chennai traffic signals) with an approx shift speed as below:
1 gear - upto 20k@ 5k rpm
2nd gear - upto 35k @5k
3rd - 45- 50 @ 5-6k
4th - 55- 75 @ 6-7.5 k
5th - 60 - 85 @ 6-7.5k
6th - 65 - 105 @ 6-8k max
1st to 2nd Gear: 10 kmph : 4-5k RPM ( I don't redline at 5k RPM in first)
2nd to 3rd Gear: 20 kmph : 4-5k RPM
3rd to 4th Gear: 30 kmph : 4-5k RPM
4th to 5th Gear: 40kmph : 4-5k RPM
5th to 6th Gear: 50kmph : 5 - 6k RPM
I don't redline on most situations, however sometime out of frustrations of getting packed in a traffice I might rev it hard and redline in 2nd or 3rd Gear... I try not to cross 60, but everyone knows how hard it is not to..
Temptation..temptation..temptation
I hope this gear shift pattern is optimal, or should I push the bike more ?
Tank fill to tank fill got 38.38 km / ltr ( 200kms with 5.21 liters of xTra Premium).. out of that 200 kms, 160 were driven in congested chennai city traffic...The Mileage shown on the ODO was 37 though ( never thought this calculation of the ODO will be so accurate.. will have to re-check when I fill the tank the next time..)Originally posted by rjswaroop2004 View PostAnd now... 370kms done... Avg kpl shown 33 :/

Today at the showroom, enquired about the coolant spill. Service person explained the same what the members have explained a few pages back. They've sent feedback regarding that to the factory he said. I guess nothing much can be done about it other than maintaing the coolant at half level.
Saw this Duke on the service bay. Nice design but the 'KTM' is facing the wrong direction.

Service person was taking photos of the engine parts during the service. They too confirmed Motul 7100 can be used at 1st service.
Saw this paddock inside the showroom. Swing arm supported type without any spools. Easier to fabricate outside. Anyone done one?

What's the brand and version number of the Coolant for the radiator. I've to pick a Can for self top-up as I reside relatively far from the showroom.
OT: Apologies if it's specified already in the forum, 'tapatalk' app crashes when I use 'search'.

On another note: Here's a link to a UK website I found for KTM Power parts
Jim Aim Motorcycles Ltd 125 DUKE
Looks like most of the power parts are a bit expensive

what's the price of the engine cowl?
will the led tank strip be available as powerpart?and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

I saw a Duke around 4pm from Dr. R.K. Salai to Marina Beach.. turned left towards Santhome.. Alas, didn't make conversation in the traffic, though we had ample opportunities... anyone from here covered that route .. I wasn't following you .. I was just heading home
