Ah response from both the forums help out a lot... And yes his advice was helpful

Perfectly explained!! And a couple of Dukers refused to believe me when I did tell them there is a small click and CLICK between 5 and 6 and vice versa!

I guess a couple of others have asked "which place is this" and everybody has just said "some shop in koramangala" Is the shop address some super secret?

Here s what you have to do when u downshift blip the throttle just a bit and then shift down! When you up shifting, "You Pep it You change the gear" There is a point when you are about to apply throttle at that point shift up you will have the smoothest up shift! Comes with a bit of practice just keep trying!
Hmmm I guess I alway shift like that ... Maybe will practice som more thnx

    2nd to 3rd Gear: 20 kmph : 4-5k RPM
    3rd to 4th Gear: 30 kmph : 4-5k RPM
    4th to 5th Gear: 40kmph : 4-5k RPM
    5th to 6th Gear: 50kmph : 5 - 6k RPM

I don't redline on most situations, however sometime out of frustrations of getting packed in a traffice I might rev it hard and redline in 2nd or 3rd Gear... I try not to cross 60, but everyone knows how hard it is not to..
    Temptation..temptation..temptation

I hope this gear shift pattern is optimal, or should I push the bike more ?

Tank fill to tank fill got 38.38 km / ltr ( 200kms with 5.21 liters of xTra Premium).. out of that 200 kms, 160 were driven in congested chennai city traffic...The Mileage shown on the ODO was 37 though ( never thought this calculation of the ODO will be so accurate.. will have to re-check when I fill the tank the next time..)

Shubz, whats the link to the FB page ? This is the Bajaj KTM Duke 200 official page, I came across ( https://www.facebook.com/#!/BajajKtmduke ) Would appreciate if you can share it, Thanks.
Mileage washer than enough for me ... Revving till 7-7.5 gradually from 5 was advised at the store and by some riders I knew...
I'm just concerned about my hard n false shifting gearbox :s

I ve noticed that when shifted normally there are two steps form 5 to 6 one way to over come that false neutral is following " You pep it You change the gear" The moment u start applying throttle shift up that is the smoothest way, the gear change will be seamless.
Yes, agree with you and Shubz. It does seem like an in between click. I have tried your method as well as shifting with a little more elongated pressure successfully although it doesn't feel natural to me. I'm concerned about it only because it happens at high speeds when you need the uncut transmission the most

I shared this Hafeez's contact over here. Yesterday he called up to thank me. He said some 5-6 Dukers have already got it done. Somebody from Chennai also had come. Now, who was that? Happy to be useful

        • hey fellas.. is anyone facing the problem of coolant level reducing very fast.

I topped up my coolant to max on last saturday and it has gone to min..

when i contacted the SVC guys, they told me that the max and min mark are hardly 50-100 ml of coolant.

Don't worry much. The min level is just at the half level of the container in which the level is showed. I saw it on one of the duke's whose tank cover was removed. If your road ride is too bumpy then the level falls. I experienced it drop to min level in one day of 460km ride on a bumpy highway.

If the level falls at the same pace, then go to SVC and top it up.

Can you give me price of spares (chain set, clutch plates etc) and parts which usually gets damaged in minor accidents like indicator, front mud guard etc.
I am looking forward to buy D200 but just want to make sure that i can maintain her in good condition afterwards.
I have heard that parts of ninja are over expensive, i hope it is not same with D200.

                Thank you

dude i was at the ghatkopar service stn.. there was this guy who met an accident and broke his gear shifter.. and those guys didn't have the spares.. so they welded that thing again to the bike.

SICK.. Many of the imp parts have not arrived at the svc yet.

I have ridden mine 500Km in a day, on a mix of road conditions. No leak whatsoever. It's been 1500Km since I last topped up the coolant, no noticeable reduction in coolant level. So, you might want to report it to the service center personnel. Some cap might be loose.

I have not tried myself, so I can't vouch for it. But I have surely seen pictures of Duke with colt on the net. Even this talks about the same. I think even Rjays have the platinum model that might fit.

Anyway it will be better to try out ourselves and then invest.

Yes it is being made in India, I think they are busy making new bikes out of spares :P once the demand is met they will sell spares.

This happens with all new vehicles, its called supply chain management. They will not stock all spares everywhere but build up gradually according to a database, as demand builds.

There is no leak that's for sure coz i didn't see traces of coolant anywhere on the bike. I spoke with the svc guy but he says that the amount between max and min level is about 50-100 ml so it is quite normal and there is enough coolant in the coolant tank.. will bring this up in the first service.

That's what the point is.. I even asked them if any of the important spare have arrived? Firstly the lady on the desk said yes but then after confirming with the spares team she said they haven't received any parts yet.

Hey what you wanna get is the Castrol Radicool Coolant Ready Mix. Its a Gold colored bottle. And is recommended in the manual as well, Good luck finding it!!! They won't even sell it to you from the service station for some reason!!! Unless you are doing a service.
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

I saw a post with pics on teambhp forum. One guy had used the saddle bags for his duke. He was using Bullet-sized saddlebags (company peak)
Although he mentioned it was not a perfect solution as the saddle bags kept shifting forward during the ride.

i am also facing this issue i have topped up the coolant about 2-3 times and covered approx 550 Km
There is no leak of coolant in my bike also but whenever i go to service station the guy there fills it with coolant and tells me now it will be ok will
I will address this issue on first service
