Bro, the cost incurred was about 350/- for the metal frame (made from waste square tubular rods), new rods would be costly, top plate was also made using waste plywood (20mm), non-slip mat cost around 250/-, miscellaneous cost was mounting bolts, aluminum strip, fevicol fabrication, etc. But if we fabricate a new one, you should be able to get it done in around 750-1000K.

Always was told 'fs not before 3.5k km'.. But look at that now. Fs at 1st service only.

                    • What are the lights on this bike like? There is no information on the headlight power, is it a regular halogen 35/35 or 60/55W bulb? What is the battery capacity?

I'm considering letting my '07 Karizma go in favour of the Duke 200.

So I emailed [email protected] last Friday about the oil to be used, and my dissatisfaction with the stock radiator guard. Was very pleasantly surprised to get a response on the weekend, with all the info i needed.

                          Here is their response:

The recommended oil for KTM200 Duke is,
                          SAE 20 W50 - Qualifying to JASO MA1/MA2 - SJ or SL grade - Qty : 1.4 liters.
You can use semi synthetic or even synthetic oil as long as they qualify to above viscosity & grade.
You can use Motul brand too.

However, our workshops would insist for change of oil at recommended interval.
That is to ensure maintenance prudence.
Hence you may have to carry the oil with you at the time of first service.
Currently bajaj DTSi 10000 oil is available - which is of the receommended viscosity & grade.
Soon we would make the Motul oil available too - looking at demand from customers like you.

Your suggestion on radiator guard - We would have a close look at it.
While your point of extra protection against small pables is well taken,we also need to conside the cooling air flow.
This would be particularly important - with Indian summer setting in now.

Now, this is really a blessing in disguise then if Motul will be provided at PBK! Now, the biggest question, atleast for me, is that would it be available at all the PBK service centre or in only those which cater to KTM. I guess, the later.
