Congrats bro. Just loved your verdict, very inspiring for us "to be dukers".

One thing i noticed in the last pic, it is showing some warning indication, hope that was nothing serious.

The warning light is beacuse the side stand is down, if there are more than one warning the light starts flashing!

          • I am seriously considering this bike but in the latest issue of Bike india it fails on all counts when compared head to head with a hond acbr 250r - a bike i utterly despise. I would want to part with my hard earned money on a good bike which i plan on keeping for a long time. looks are subjective and I am ok with anything. I plan on going for long tours with my bike and fuel efficiency @ 30 kmpl is ok with me anything more is a bonus. According to the bike india comparison the Ktm duke is not a worthy investment. Can anyone convince me to not go for the honda or the pulsar200ns?

Duke is not for touring. Buy yourself a Honda or an RE.

Bro , firstly , i dont get the need to compare a Duke and a CBR, both are bikes in widely different segment, the duke is a naked street bike , meant mostly for city riding pleasure, naked bikes are always a gamble in highways, the wind blast is much more than you get on a faired bike. These are common things. And the CBR i s more like a sports tourer, it has the full fairing , and more relaxed seating position required for touring.
And since you clearly know that your need is for long tours and you want it for a long time then CBR is your best bet. Not that KTM is low on quality or anything, its a well reputed world class company too.

But for your needs the CBR is the one for you, considering the touring criteria.

If you've finalized on the Duke weighing all your priorities, then you can't go wrong. The quality speaks for itself. Absolute 'Value(Performance) for Money'.

Haha don't need to do that, he was just confused looking at the funky color and naked profile.

                  Today's update:
Short offroading at <30kmph through a twisty road with loose sand. Front wheel never wobbled a bit. Felt like a sand dunes rider , was Fun.

Bro, have you tried Auto Queen , Kalloor ? They stock all Motul products there. And Xbhpians do get discounts for almost every product there.

Query about coolant... I got the Castrol Radicool Heavyduty coolant, as specified in the manual... now do i use it as is or dilute it with water? also, do i add it to the radiator or the container next to fuel tank?

Dilute it 2 parts of DM water to one part Coolant. The radiator cap is visible next to the Fuel Tank Cap. Black in colour.

You are seriously right! The duke is not at all a worthy investment! (Dukers Out there spare me I am one too!) But for your needs the bike doesn fit the bill! CBR 250 is the one for you, or even better you can wait for the 200 NS n read all the reviews posted about it and declare that is not worthy as well! For now the CBR should do the job for you!

IF It says Ready-Mix on the label then DO NOT DILUTE IT! BUT...IF you have bought the concentrate version then please dilute as guided here.

                              • Has anyone here in Mumbai read today's paper of how this guys bike got stolen from Mohammed Ali road? And how he got it back in 4 days!!! That must've really been torturous for the poor guy...KTM should really have released the bike with the Alarm system, it really is a must with the type of attention this bike gathers, not only does it attract admirers, but also the ever watchful eye of these Low Life, Deserve to be Shot in the Groin, Bike Thieves, I suggest everyone here use disc break locks to secure your bikes regardless of the bike.

Also more importantly, any ideas on how a kid could have started this bike without a key? And isn't the key a special laser cut key?!?!? ...How was it so easy for him?
