thanks... about the radiator cap, I think what you are referring to is the coolant container... the radiator cap is on the right side of the radiator... the manual (pg. 114-120) says to first fill the radiator completely and then fill the container... views?Originally posted by rohitoasis View PostDilute it 2 parts of DM water to one part Coolant. I don't think it says Ready-Mix... also, the coolant container mentions "Recommended dosage" of 1:2 or 1:1 coolant and water... seems, 1:2 will work here... views?Originally posted by joshzma225 View PostIF It says Ready-Mix on the label then DO NOT DILUTE IT! BUT...IF you have bought the concentrate version then please dilute as guided here.

Yes that ratio should work fine. Be careful not to spilllthe coolant on your tank or front fender coz it leaves a sticky permanent residue if not wiped off within seconds with water.Originally posted by scbra View PostI don't think it says Ready-Mix... also, the coolant container mentions "Recommended dosage" of 1:2 or 1:1 coolant and water... seems, 1:2 will work here... views?Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

35+ mileage
I am in my running-in phase. Tankfull to tankfull translates to 35 kmpl for me. 70% highway riding, 30% city, (double seat all the time). So your mileage definitely seems similar to what I am getting.Originally posted by sivigshankar View PostDid another full tank today... 6.94 liters ... 261 kms.. Mileage = 37.60 km / ltr... Number plates under the headlamps ???
i think that the ugly number plate in the front spoils the look of the bike.
I just came across a picture of the malaysian version of the KTM duke, the number plate holder in that version is under the headlamp cowl. check out the link

I figured that they have clamped on the plate to two bolts under the headlight, see pic below. A small metal bracket could do the job neatly. I also measured if the plates would hit the fender in case the suspension travels to its max position, well there is enough clearance.
Is this a good idea ? I am concerned whether the plates would block the airflow to the radiator

hey just checked out the pics...think the clamp would work....dont think the airflow would be affected that much(could be wrong)....n just noticed the orange radiator guards in those pics...hope to get that soon!!Originally posted by arunsuresh View Posti think that the ugly number plate in the front spoils the look of the bike.

Could You be a bit specific?Originally posted by starscream1188 View PostYou are seriously right! The duke is not at all a worthy investment! (Dukers Out there spare me I am one too!
)
Done with first service yesterday. The gear shifter light still blinks when I touch 5k rpm. Does that needs to be reset?

I am gonna try out the clamp thing this week. Will update you guys on how it turns out. Yup, i too want those radiator guards. My radiator is already full of dead bugs...Originally posted by manojkumar View Posthey just checked out the pics...think the clamp would work....dont think the airflow would be affected that much(could be wrong)....n just noticed the orange radiator guards in those pics...hope to get that soon!!
I am so jealous that there are so many parts available abroad for a "Made in India" bike

u can manually change the rpm1 and 2 settings on the duke...it depends on how u wanna shift...i have changed the settings to 7.5k and 10k as rpm1 and rpm2 respectively(normally shift b/w 8-9k)....oh and the bike sounds like a monster wen u open it up over 8k rpm...have to watch coz most of the time i dont realize im doing over a 100...look down n boom...im like when did i hit that speed :POriginally posted by Ri$hi View PostDone with first service yesterday.
