Hi,
I am having the same issue with my duke 200 (april 2012) model. Got fuel pump checked, got spark plug changed (they say they did it), air filter cleaned, but still there is a hiccup as u say. It happens when engine is cold i.e. upt 4 bars on temperature and around 4000 rpm. Small throttle or gentle throttle twist sends the bike int choking mode for a few mili seconds and then it jerks back to life.
I am also looking for a solution.
P.S. Someone mentioned to me to get the throttle body cleaned. Will get it done and see.

Btw, How many kms on the odo?

Replace under warranty is what I meant. Ktm fuel pumps if broken cannot be fixed at all. They are utterly plastic and fragile. There's only one way to tell if its broken, that is to throw the ignition switch and listen to the pump. If it sounds forced or laggy then replace. Ktm fuel pumps work by increasing fuel pressure as per rpm and if broken the fuel pressure will drop resulting in lag. Replacing fuel filter sometimes improves hot engine fuel pressure but cold starts will still be a problem. That is at times the pump will increase pressure and at times the pressure drops. Pressure must remain constant at all times or too much fuel enters the engine causing the plug to short out.

Two notches below is normal. This question has been answered in detail in the last page of this thread by me and s1d. Check it.

As per the manual and I follow,
Cold pressure for Solo:
F - 25, R - 28
With pillion:
F - 25, R - 32

Follow the manual, and maybe bump it up by 2 psi at the max. Ive kept the rear at 32 due to my weight @85kgs (i ride solo mostly) and the front at 29.

Yeh its normal, and will be more or less the same forever. The heat will always be felt, lets say compared to other bikes such as a pulsar, unicorn etc.. but its normal for the duke.
And the temperature indicator bars indicate the coolant temperature and not engine temp.

Hey is anyone tried a diff engine oil other than the Motul? Was considering the Castrol Power1, but was wondering if it'll really make a diff or not?

Guys.. btw i picked up the side stand bypass device and the oil filler cap (which cannot be opened by hand) from Mr.Dhaval.
The courier guys though seem to have tried to inspect the pack or something and ended up scuffing the top portion of the oil filler cap..now its orange anodized coating is scraped off.
will be trying out these during the first service that is due shortly (i have a reason for waiting till the first service, and will be posting some shocking/surprising stuff here soon)

How much did the orange oil filler cap cost you? Did you get it off eBay?

Thanks for the information. I thought it was the engine temperature.

The coolant cap can be opened by anyone right? Is there any safety feature for it? Like any other type of cap etc with lock or something like that.

Not ebay. There is this person Mr.Dhaval from Mumbai (you can watch his videos on youtube, let me know if you want his contact info) who sells a custom made side stand bypass device and also the oil filler cap which requires a spanner to open and cant be opened with bare hands.

The coolant cap, rear brake reservoir cap and oil filler cap can be easily opened by anyone on the d200/d390. anyway the oil filler cap on most bikes can easily be accessed and removed with bare hands.
So here is what i have done:
1. Along with the delivery of my bike, i bought one each of the coolant cap, rear brake reservoir cap and oil filler cap.
2. I put a tape (nice strong duct tape, or you can use the regular brown tape too) around the coolant cap and rear brake reservoir cap, so that I will at least know if someone has messed with it, and it helps keeping people attention away from these when they are masked.
3. Since I am paranoid, I decided to get the relatively better after market oil filler cap that cannot be opened easily with bare hands and requires a spanner to open.
