Hi, I gave my bike to first service on friday, then rode for 20kms. Everything was ok. From yesterday morning, I am getting a sound from the engine. It is like a tiny motor running inside with a screech sound. The sound is very minimal, but I can feel it is due to something rotating. The sound comes only when I increase throttle, then when I release throttle, it is gone in 2 seconds. The sound comes, even when in neutral. Will be taking to svc tomorrow. It will be good, if I know the reason, so that I can explain to them.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Any specific reason for selling it off? With the numerous problems being faced by some owners a lot of them have sold their bikes too.Originally posted by Deathmate.Zed View PostFeeling so sad visiting this thread after selling off my babe yesterday

Re: KTM 200 Duke
^^ sent u a pm to avoid OT. No probs with my duke though..it was perfectly healthy
But the second hand market is cruel with its resale. Found a genuine buyer who respects the duke and will take good care of her.Last edited by Deathmate.Zed; 04-27-2014, 06:49 PM.The way you ride is the way you are..

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Eagerly waiting for 690 now. D200 is fantastic bike (power and braking are just exceptional). D200 is my first bike (learned to ride on this bike by watching YouTube videos, had never ridden a bike before or a scooter for that matter). Want to go for a 600cc+ bike next and can't think of any other bike except the Duke. Have been watching its reviews online and D690 is just as great as D200 (with more power >
)
P.S: I am also hoping D690 would be around 5 Lakhs (VFM *wink* *wink*). Another reason to wait for it.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hey you follow Rok Bagoros too! Cool. I did look at 690R but it won't be coming to India probably. I didn't find much difference between the two except for a bit more power and extended trellis frame on the R version. 690 would be cheaper I guess. Am not looking for a touring bike or something that is track specific. I love Duke because it is Raw in true sense. The only thing I use my bike is for daily commute to office and occasional outings nearby city. Duke is in true sense the Duke of the streets. (Would definitely like that hot air blowing engine to cool down and not burn down all my leg hairs :P)Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostWhat one should wait for is duke 690R...the one Rok Bagoros(watch some more YouTube videos) has..

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Actually that extended part is not a part of the trellis frame but a sort of a step to keep the leg onto while doing stunts.Originally posted by Edd View PostHey you follow Rok Bagoros too! Cool. But I'd rather wait for the RC series than to have another naked bike in my collection...

Custom Maps for Duke 200 and 390
I thought this is genuine and worth sharing.
Motoroids claim:
"KTM has decided to soon become the first manufacturer in the Indian bike market to offer factory approved custom maps for its bikes. It is being said that KTM India is currently developing two maps for both its Duke motorcycles. While one of this map will be for performance riding, the other will be for city usage."

Seems like a super cool news if this is true

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Today was a real bad day for me as far as riding is concerned as today when i was riding back home to bombay from pune i went over a sharp speed beaker at 110-120 n luckily i managed to balance myself. As i went over the speed beaker i was very sure my rims were gone but when i stopped my bike and checked my rims,i was shocked to see that my rims looked perfect and i think i am right as after the speed beaker incident i continued riding for more 87 kms but as i reached panvel i got stuck in traffic n bcoz of the crazy traffic i wasnt paying attention to my console n then when i looked down i saw the dreaded HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE msg on my console but as i was in the middle of the total traffic i couldnt shut off my bike so i continued riding for about more 3-4 mins n then shut off my bike and let it be like that for 10-15 mins. After that when i started my bike there was no HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE msg so i continued my ride but after reaching home when i started inspecting my bike properly i realized that there was this green color liquid(COOLANT) all over my chassis n leg guard but the coolant level still showed max. So now i am really confused should i take my bike to the service or continue riding my bike as it is?????Last edited by sanjana k; 04-29-2014, 03:31 AM.
