Did u see any such error code on the console during ur issue?? And where is this coil located so that I can take a look at it once..
With new battery it ll run for max 50km before battery gets dry if coil is the culprit. I dont knw where exactly is its location as I had left it in svc as there was no spare coil available at that time. I was in middle of a solo ride from pune to bangalore when it happened and luckily it came up after reaching bangalore. It was replaced under waranty.
There was error code as mentioned by you and had behaved exactly the same way as you explained. I charged the battery in a local shop and took it to svc.

      • duke 200 gear change

        Hi!,
        i own a duke 200...its been almost 4 months.
Today i noticed that the gears shift without even holding the clutch.
How do u solve this because at high speeds a gear down may cause an accident!

          Can you please elaborate?
It is not possible that gears shift by themselves, but if you are shifting them yourself without holding the clutch, then technically there is nothing wrong with your bike so it cannot be corrected.
Consider clutch as an aide which disconnects engine from the wheels for smooth gear shift, but it is not a safety feature that will dissalow gear shifts. You have to be cautious that you keep in control and do not shift accidentally without holding the clutch.

              Hi,

Today I noticed oil leaking from the left side of the engine....Any possible reasons for this?

No, the chain was lubed last week by the service only and I have noticed this today only...and chain does not seem to be over lubed, if that was the case the oil would have been splattered over the rear wheel and swing arm too?

It's not an engine oil leak, it's bcoz of excess lubing. Can be seen in any vehicle after service, bcoz it takes some time for the dust to form and turn the grease black.
Sprocket lubing is one of the reason for it.

Can someone confirm...is there a delay between when u put the stand down and the caution message displayed on the console..??!!
Mine seems to have a 3-4 seconds delay...

Yes there is. The delay will progressively get longer as the sensor ages with all the lube+gunk splattered on it.
Be careful while cleaning the bike. A slight nudge with a probing finger might damage it(especially the wire feeding it)since it's already weak leaving you no option but to call the svc guys to bring a new sensor.Happened with me

So if the sensor wire gets damaged somehow then the bike won't start at all..??!!!

Yes!!You'll see all kind of weird readings on your speedo. I was being shown random speeds with even a little bit of roll of the tires.

The svc guys have a jugaad to bypass the reading going to the ecu which they use to start the engine and ride the bike to the svc where they replace the sensor.
May be we could all get hold of one when going on tours.

The same goes true for me as well. While riding, all of a sudden the speedo started to show zero and random numbers, and then it showed low battery. Went straight to the SVC, and got the coil replaced in an hour or so. An easy way to confirm the charger is functioning is when you switch off the bike with the headlights on, if the charging coil is working, you can notice a dip in brightness as you turn off the engine kill switch.
