KTM Service Check list - any one?

    I own a KTM Duke 200, & clocked about 10K kms
The 4th service(paid) is due now.

Is anybody aware of the list of checks/repairs that is covered in the paid service?

Apart from the regular oil change, water wash, what else is covered as part of service ?

Hey guys, i need ur help n replies asap, as on sunday orange day is there in mumbai n i wanna race in it but today evening when i was stuck in traffic while returning back from college, my console started displaying HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE like it always does in traffic but today i got to experience something very drastic, my temp graph got totally filled with all its bars n the bike started vibrating after that n soon green liquid started spilling out from the lower section of the bike everywhere n there was also a lot of smoke. As i am facing HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE warnings on a daily basis i would lyk to go in for engine-ice,so wat should i do now?? should i tow my bike to an engine-ice dealer or ride it till there n if ride it then how as there is no coolant left in the coolant tank . That is some nasty mess you've got! I'd advice you to head to the dealer/ASC to get this thoroughly checked if the sensor/thermostat/fan are working correctly and for any damages on the radiator/hoses
btw incase of no/non availability of coolant, you can use plain water [preferably distilled water like the ones used for topping up batteries, but try to avoid bore water].

Fill up the radiator and overflow tank with distilled water.

You can find distilled water at any battery shop or shell petrol pump.
If you cannot find distilled water then plain tap water is also fine as long as you flush the coolant within a few days.
Make sure you fill radiator and not just the overflow tank beside the petrol tank.

And if you are filling engine ice make sure you flush the current coolant thoroughly with water a couple of times.
And once with distilled water if possible before filling engine ice.

Check out this link once before you proceed with the coolant flush. It will give you a basic idea of how to change coolant.

After friday’s wet ride, yesterday the sun finally came out so I decided it would be a good opportunity to wash the SDuke! Yes…my decision making hability has been questioned before&#82…

Bro first see if you're radiator fan is working or not, if the fan doesn't turn on then coolant will come out in this manner.
I use engine ice in my duke , it's a good coolant but go for it only when you're cooling system is working properly.
Just pour distilled water and take it to SVC.
IF YOU RIDE LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW, THERE WON'T BE

There is only one opening from where i can put distilled water rite??? N i think that opening is the 1 which is on the tank which says COOLANT rite. So my question is if i will put distilled water from the coolant opening than both the radiator n overflow tank will get filled kya? I think i am acting lyk a super noob but i seriously didnt get wat u r trying to say.

There is a cap which you can open and pour coolant into
This is the radiator the other one beside the rank is just for overflow/reservoir.

The reason i said to fill in both is because in case you lost a lot of coolant and you fill only the reservoir then there is a chance for air to get trapped in the coolant circulation system.

If there is air the circulation will not be perfect and cooling effect will be less.

But since you are going to flush coolant soon i think it would not matter a lot.

Also as others suggested make sure the fans are working and also that the radiator grill is clean.

In this pic u can open the top cap which is near the tank and the second one is below to what is marked as clamp b.

First open cap below clamp b and check coolant level. Then you can fill the reservoir by opening cap at top.

When i had to flush my coolant, i got the distilled eater from a battery shop. The only other place where i have seen distilled water is a shell petrol pump.

                          Hi Friends,

I Need your valuable suggestions and feed back on riding techniques. I have completed 5.2 kms on my duke and I would just like to let you all know how i have been riding till now. For the First 5000Kms i have not crossed the 5k rpm on 1st,2nd and 3rd and 4th gears. Have not crossed 7k rpm on the 5th gear and have not crossed 9k rpm on the 6th gear. I came across suggestions to redline the engine on all the gears during running in period for the engine to properly break in. Since i did not follow that during the initial period, For the next 50 kms i have been riding above 7k rpm whenever possible on gears till 4th... Am experiencing vibrations as soon as i cross the 5k rpm mark. Will the vibrations decrease in time to come? or have i got to change my riding technique. Keeping in mind that i am not looking for fuel effeciency, just want my engine to be in a perfect shape - kindly help me out.

                          Thanks in advance.

Gentlemen - I am considering an upgrade from the sedate Honda Unicorn to either the Duke 200 or the CBR 250.I am more inclined towards the duke due to its more upright seating/riding position(I am 37 now..) than the CBR and the lightness of the bike.I would to know how refined the Duke is considering that i have been riding the ultra refined Unicorn till date.Similarly can i use regular petrol on Duke or is it a strict no no?

Does using smaller sprockets(39,40T etc..) at the rear to make the bike more smoother on highways?I believe current KTM's come with 42T.How much do they cost?

                            Thanks

I opened the cap below clamp B but the gap was too small so i couldnt check the coolant level,so after that i opened the top cap which is near the tank n in that i could see some green liquid(COOLANT)at the bottom end. So now should i put distilled water through both the openings?

Oh lol you're still looking into bikes for an upgrade. About petrol, Duke requires ultra high quality petrol to run and simply won't start on normal petrol... if you put normal petrol in the tank the smart speedometer starts reading "no I won't start because you put cheap quality petrol in me, I need xtra premium" lolol

I believe even superbikes do absolutely fine on normal petrol in longterm.. Duke is just a 200cc monster, normal petrol is fine I'd say!

?? that sort of riding style for a full 5000Kms ?? even that on a Duke200 ? You over pampered your bike imho, Duke engines are already known to be very well built. Redline & enjoy the burst of acceleration in lower gears than focussing on minute vibrations. Vibrations will only be reduced with time I believe.
