Guys, need help regarding the key.

The SVC (KTM Wakdewadi, Pune) broke my Duke 200 key in two pieces.

Now what is the procedure to acquire a new key?

The SVC guys told me that they have a blank key and then they will duplicate my key from a local key maker.

Where does the key code number comes in use then?

had i been in ur place then i would have called bajaj/ktm customer care and asked the procedure of obtaining duplicate key. i would have also asked if company sends a duplicate key or its made at local key maker.
And if they say that company sends a new key then i would have complained about the svc.

My Coil Plate went bust. So while replacing it, they charged the battery too....
15900 km.
New battery is around 3600/- in Mumbai.

Well thanks. I initially called them but they never asked for the key code and so I thought something wasn't right. I had sent an email to KTM India ([email protected]) at the same time when I posted here. Late in the evening I got a reply that if I lose both the keys then the company will send a pair of keys to me but if only one key is lost then the company will send a blank key (available at the dealers/SVC) and the SVC will get it done!! Now we know the procedure. Cheers

LASER CUT KEYS will be made by LOCAL KEY MAKER !!!

Anyway I have no idea if it is the correct process, it should be as company says the same.
Still a video of how duplicate laser keys are made.

Yes, the keys can be made locally. I had made one for my bike when i lost it. They would ask for the bike to be physically present there and only then they would make one. Costs some 100-150rs.

Michelin pilot sporty 150 is the stock profile available...

Latest offering by Michelin, pilot street radial 140/70 priced around 5k, claims to offer amazing wet grip and made of dual compound which is a great +.

Folks!, My question here is, what are the impacts/effects on downsizing the profile from stock 150/60 to 140/70?

Though I understand the increase in the diameter (apparently introduces speedo error AFAIK) should increase top end and a wee little mileage.

Are there going to be any Ill effects on transmissions or internals components, handling, stability, braking etc due to downsizing..?

Any help here is appreciated!

LOL laser cut keys are joke, you can open the fuel tank and rear seat of Duke with other Duke's keys or even P220 keys. Tested by yours truly.

after I did a little research and some help from phanikar from xbhp bangalore found out they have pilot street 150-60-17 in jc road

Dude I seriously doubt if 150/60 profile is available in pilot street... May be you are taking pilot sporty for street..?

Or maybe I'm wrong...!
