      • Fixing the helmet to get a tight fit(Jugaad version).

        Hi Dukers,
I know it's not a right place to post it here, but where can I find more head gear users other than here and facing issues with it. I am biased to Dukers and I want you guys to look at it first.

I wasn't feeling comfortable these days with my head gear(LS2 FF 351.5), which eventually got loose after using it for 9 months. I took it to JC-Road, Bangalore(the place where I purchased it) to get a fix. He suggested me a "Original LS2 Liner" marked from 850/- to 950/- bucks, still he wasn't sure about the tight fit. So, I returned back with a crazy idea of adding an extra padding inside the liner.

My Head gear and the liner are looking new and in good shape, so nothing altered.

So, today I found some good time to put my Idea in action.

After hunting for 1hr and inquiring each & every possible shop, I somehow found a 2X2 sqt, 1/2 inch thick sponge from a bed's manufacturing shop.

Cut the sheet into long pieces and align to make them sit properly. Avoid covering the Ventilators and Buttons/Velcro strips.

The toughest part is to add padding near the cheek liner.

You can hardly see the padding, as the liner will cover most of it.
I hope this post will help someone who's looking for this kind of Jugaad version of fixing their helmets.
I am not sure whether the shop wala has cheated me or not, but I got the Sheet for 100/- bucks(I expected ~50/-).

        Pros:
        Better fitting than the stock.
        Easily removable.
        Much cushioned.

        Cons:
More heat gets generated because of sponge.
        Slightly heavier.

Hi guys, want to share something that happened with me today. I didn't ride my duke for one week and it was getting dirty like hell, so thought of cleaning it and riding it for few kms. After cleaning it i let the bike idle for 5 mins, then when i got on the bike and put 1st gear something strange happened, the bike started to move even when the clutch was fully pulled in. I thought that there must be something wrong with the clutch cable and gave it a shake, i couldn't put it into neutral as the gears where very hard and was not moving, after few tries the gear shift started to behave properly and the bike was riding normally. What say guys, what could be the problem, may be my clutch cable needs replacement( i have done only 6600 kms). Suggestion and replies would really help. Thanks

Was cleaning the bike today and found some engine oil leak on the right hand side of the cylinder block where there are two round rubber seals.
Probably the engine needs to be opened for fixing??..
Has anyone faced it before?? Had 2nd servicing done last month. Any idea if it will be covered under the warranty or not?

Gasket leak, nothing major. But take to svc asap, unlike air cooled engines, gasket leak in LC engine can lead to coolant being introduced into the oil channels.

P.S: the head will be opened to replace gasket

                    That won't be needed.
No need to overthink about it. Just take it to a good svc, they will do the rest.

The clutch plates have probably sticked to each other when the bike has been standing unused for a while. Next time, let it run at idle till its warm then start working the clutch to free them up. I would not start battling the gearbox when you cant declutch properly.

Finally changed the tyres.Got the stock ones. Dropped the idea of the Metz, finances are a bit constrained you see.Had to shell out 6.3K rather than the 7.5K + at the svc.
I could immediately feel the difference. Oh boy, the stability and 'feel' is back. I used to be jumpy when leaning(whatever little of it I was doing of late).
Now the forgotten corner composure is back.
The tyres(other than the engine) have been the only part which were absolutely reliable. I didn't have a single puncture over the 23k kms I used them, though for the last 5-6 K kms were not very confidence inspiring, but given that recommended changing interval is 10K kms, I can hardly complain.

Need help from someone..regarding the above issue...The svc guy said one of the four nuts was a bit loose on the top of cylinder head..He has tightened it a bit..But I still can see some oil seeping through the round rubber seal thing on the side if a press it a bit.
Can someone check it on their bike and let me know...
