So you're average speed was around 53 Kmph; reasonable FE for that speed though. GoodOriginally posted by Rajathslr View PostIts 2hrs 4mins, including a break which was like 10mins..Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

So this means that the console shows FE on a lower side! KTM/ Bajaj is exceeding expectations by keeping them low enoughOriginally posted by Rajathslr View PostYes because while Reserve basis calculation was showing 60kmpl
The meter reading on my console showed only 55kmpl...

I don't know about the blue thing on the rear disc cable but...Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostWhile doing that 100km run, I had some observations...
1) The rear disc wire which extends from the foot brake to the back wheel discs, appeared to be lined with a blue ink kinda thing, not sure whether it was there earlier or not.
2) I used to change the gears like usual but at the end of a 10km continous run in 6th gear, I slowed down and while changing the gear to 5th, it got stuck somewher in between and that sound of the gear box made me really sick, I started sweatting, I thought something really went wrong, but fortunately i couldn fell any change again while riding
Could some Expertise come up with some explanation for the above 2 ???
What you described about that sound from the gear shift down could be that you were too slow when you shifted down and IF the chain was loose, the chain may have slipped and made the sound or you didn't pull the clutch in long enough while down shifting... and the gear didn't enter the cog of the front sprocket smoothly...but the good news is it happens! no matter how careful you are! But I really doubt something like that could do any permanent damage to your gearbox...the components though made by Bajaj have also been jointly designed by KTM keeping Endurance in mind...It is afterall what those countless Dakar Rally wins KTM has bagged illustrates...they make really tough bikes ;-)Last edited by joshzma225; 03-04-2012, 11:58 PM.Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Here in Mumbai I booked the Bike on the 24th of January 2012 and I still haven't got the bike yet. Although I was informed that I could definitely have it by this Friday the 9th of March...the Bike is physically there but the RTO formalities and registration is taking the longest time...plus Holi is around the corner...so somebody is gonna be slacking off and I may have to wait longer...Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

I know you guys are still doing your run-ins,but if some of you can post the exact acceleration/topspeed/performance figures,it would be really helpful!
And being an FZ owner,I was like
at your mileage figures!

I knew this ws comingOriginally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostSo this means that the console shows FE on a lower side! KTM/ Bajaj is exceeding expectations by keeping them low enough

But I really dont think the ECU reading is 100% reliable...Now that i have had the tank full and been riding in city limits within a day or two will post my city limits mileage..
And I did find a difference between SHELL normal and High octane, Engine was slightly smoother in feel..

all those horrific fe figure will sure come down after run-in.
cause you are gonna rip it hard.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

it's the additional protective layer on the brake hose.Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostWhile doing that 100km run, I had some observations...

Dude, you are getting such a FE is because of run-in. I was getting between 40 to 50 kmpl from my Ninja 250R while run-in. Now I am getting around 22 to 28 kmpl depends on riding conditions.Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostI knew this ws coming

Things will change once you start reving it as the way it should be.
