I totally agree with Rishi. Guys, please just report the FE and driving style and end it at that. Why do we need to discuss how FE is calculated, how other bikes behave in a contradictory manner etc. ? I am sure there are other threads for that.Originally posted by Ri$hi View Post

Yupp, I started doing sprints, from 5kmph to 60kmph in like less than 4 seconds...and now i feel its made for this, revv it hard quickly change gears enjoy the adrenaline...Originally posted by maheshkmr View PostDude, you are getting such a FE is because of run-in. I was getting between 40 to 50 kmpl from my Ninja 250R while run-in. Now I am getting around 22 to 28 kmpl depends on riding conditions.
Things will change once you start reving it as the way it should be.

power=25 bhp ; mileage~50kmpl
sounds like the dream bike for the city..on a more serious note, it would be helpful if all the owners could post their mileage figures using the tank to tank method so that we can get an idea about the 'actual average'.Because though this is a performance oriented bike it's not bad to be able to ride reasonably fast without burning a hole in your pocket

Tank to Tank means ?...Filling it full, riding then filling it again to see the litres consumed ?...Originally posted by arjun bharadwaj View Postpower=25 bhp ; mileage~50kmpl

If yes, then the same method was used to test the mileage for my bike yesterday..whic gave a horrifying 60.58kmpl...

Checked out the number plate holding bolts. It seems you will require a torx wrench with suitable driver bits. Approach PBK for this; they should have the needed equipment.Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostHas anyone tried removing the front number plate?
Caution: Do not use any other tool; had a horrifying experience with a slipped footpeg bolt on an R15.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

There is no rev limiter, it's just that the gear shift indicator starts blinking at 5k rpm and lights up permanently after 7.5k(and you can set it at any rpm). I wanted to check whether there would be a cut off at 7.5k or not, so I took her beyond 8 and there was no cut off. It reached around 98kmph.Originally posted by joshzma225 View PostWhat is the Maximum speed you can hit in 6th gear upto 7500 RPM before the Rev Limiter kicks in? And can anyone explain how the KTM PBK has advised you how to run in the bike? Was there anything specific they mentioned? & Is anyone doing the Motoman method of breaking in the engine?I read the article and by golly it made sense!!!When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

Practical test for the DukeOriginally posted by pawan_pullarwar View Postlittle offroading. For sure, Duke is not for pillion rider.
Tell us about how she behaved off the road. I know fat tire is not of much help, but I have high hopes on the suspension. Off roading is inevitable if any of us wants to travel a bit beyond city limits. So this is important

She handles well, and suspension does its jobs, the riding position is good, you can stand on foot-rest doing speed on dirt kind of road, light weight has advantage on dirt track. Tyres are not for such track and dangerous, once I applied breaks and she was rolling freely.Originally posted by shreeda View PostPractical test for the Duke

HP Testing
As mentioned by someone earlier, HP is tested using an engine dyno. You wont be able to do it as you wont get the equipment anywhere. There are available with R&D of Automotive companies. So you have to believe in what the manufacturers have to say.Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostIs ther any way to measure externally the BHP of a bike engine??...I need to test it after 1st service..Hero Honda Karizma

If I am not mistaken PBK has DYNO on which this can be done...approach the PBK and give it a try if you are interested.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostAs mentioned by someone earlier, HP is tested using an engine dyno.
