Well may be...but here're few of my observation...

    1. CBR vs Duke comparison is quite incorrect as both of them are in different leagues serving different purposes altogether
    2. The engine heating could be more from the higher compression ratio, but certainly not due to stressed engine. Being a DOHC engine, I don't think it would be a stressed engine.
    3. Regarding speedo, Pulsar's speedo calibration would be certainly more optimistic than any Japs/European bike's calibration
    4. Regarding gear shift comparison, yes, certainly one has to shift more gears for several reasons like torque, shorter gears & the strokes. They all make the difference. Probably that's what KTM intended for a bike like KTM 200; personally, for the look of D200, I think those are on fine lines.

BTW, RE's UCE engine is not 5 decade old; if I'm not wrong, they're not more than 2-3 years old.

Anyway, these are my line of thoughts on Duke as I don't have experience with Duke.

Uncle xBhp'ian - That was OT & for non OT, clean the alloy wheel with Petrol; For D200 & Ninja it might hardly matter as the alloy wheels are black in color, but for CBR, being silverish, even a lightest dust is highlighted.

      .
i tend to agree with you on 1st, 3rd and 4 th point.
need an clear explanation of the 2nd point.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Of course there is a way to rectify this (the pulling to right, not the skidding). You will probably have to get wheel balancing done. AARGEE can guide us better on this topic I think.
RG Since you are not asleep right now, any comments on ^^^?

@Duke owners: This is what your fellow Duke owner (who has also owned in the past / currently owns P150, P220Fi, R15, Ninja 250R, Duke 200) had written on 09-14-2010.

Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View Post

I have used several chain lubricants; SAE 90 Oil, Motul Chain Lube, the OKS Chain Spray and the Paras Chain Spray used at many Probiking centers but found the Paras Spray and OKS to be the best.

Of all my bikes, the R15 probably consumes or needs more attention as far as Chain Lube is concerned. The last few weeks had caused havoc with the chain as the chain was squeaking louder than a battalion of a thousand hungry mice. Add to that the typical rust and grime.

I happened to buy the TVS Chain Spray as a pure alternative to the Motul Chain Spray (not available at that time) and OKS (Dealer not known).
The Chain Spray retails for Rs. 295 in a spray bottle weighing 375 gm and contains 500 ml of lubricant.

Both the R15 and the 220 got the chain lube treatment and I found the performance to be good even after riding the bike in rain and mud. The lube did not wear off like the Motul Chain Lube. The splatter is less and the lube feels at par with OKS and the Paras Spray.

My Verdict: Worth a buy...especially if you ride a lot. At Rs. 295, its a bargain.
Bolded for added visibility. Since P220, R15, Ninja 250R and Duke 200 all use O-Ring chains, what works on one should work on others too.

IMO Rs. 80/- per lubing session is pure waste of money. If I have to spend that money for DIY cleaning, I would rather pay the exact same amount to PBK and get it done rather than getting my own hands dirty. I know you all can afford it since it is just 80 bucks but I would rather spend it on a liter of Petrol .

P.S.: I have never used any "chain clean" on my P220 chain ever. It is cleaned only at 5k km service at PBK. I only use TVS Chain Spray liberally (not RG liberally though) every 500km and my first Chain + Sprocket set lasted over 27k km (without any cheap+cost saving modifications).

P.P.S.: These days, TVS spray costs 395/- for the 500ml can and lasts like an eternity (compared to a can of Motul Chain Lube Spray).

Not all that early either sir. many have completed SS, many have clocked more than 1k in a very short time. many more are munching miles at ease too.

And most of other stuff has been addressed by aargee.

2 bikes, each a peach in its own class is being unfairly compared. I would not brand another bike as bad based on my own personal opinion and state it as a general opinion.

                Regarding wheel balancing...

On Rajath's issue - Guess he's using less on front & more with rear brakes, that's what I feel from his description on the issue.

If you allow me add two more comments...

You mean to say that you move the bike forward just about half the bikes length and then continue to lube the chain? ...Its fun no doubt using the Motul Chain Lube and Chain Clean, but I would really love a good *CHEAP* Paddock stand...the one at the KTM showroom was a reported 4k when i asked to take it with me :-D

It really wasn't about Luck my friend, just take a look at the warranty section in the manual, anything that has a manufacturing defect, either has to be repaired OR replaced, since they can't fix a chip of aluminum coming off the swing arm they HAVE to replace it. Although they (Ghatkkopar Svc Station) did offer me a paint(touch up) job for the scratch on my clutch cover and swing arm, I politely declined that offer!!! & proceeded to have hem replaced entirely instead. My argument with the Workshop manager to authorize the Warranty replacement of the parts was simple, either get me a replacement part or get me a replacement bike, and things started to get moving from then on.

Two options I see, either you get used to the heat & eat the omellete OR eat the omellete & get used to the heat ; I'm no expert on D200, see what the real owner's has to say. Or use riding pants, that should keep you off from heat.

No; last time I heard their price was somewhere around Rs 1800; Didar T.Nagar; just check if it would suit D200.

Best is water, but it will corrode your pipes; better option, stick with what you've now, it wouldn't change to anything better. But pls consult at 3 places because I'm no expert here...
