You should have got a clear googles or a helmet with visor. It ain't suitable for night riding. Gloves looks pretty good. How is the quality and will it useful in case of a crash?

        • Went on a ride to the Amby Valley yesterday with Inder on his Duke and Ritwik on his R15.

          Observations from the ride:

          1. The Duke is extremely light, nimble and easy around corners
          2. The quick flick into corners can be executed with so much ease that one may need to stand up the bike and adjust the line a bit. This is probably only till one gets used to the wide handlebars, low weight and the frame characteristics.
          3. The gearbox ratios are sweet. Had fun shifting up and down; especially, 4th, 5th and 6th are so much fun. No false neutrals throughout the trip.
          4. The front brake is responsive and has enough feedback. Did not use the rear brake.
          5. The Duke feels slightly..ever so slightly cramped for my height. I'm 5'11". I had to move back every other time. The sweet position is where the rear seat's hump just touches your tailbone.
          6. Tyres are grippy. Could not use large lean angles since I was maintaining the 6K limit in each gear..approx. 83-87 kmph in top.
          7. Downhill is fun. Uphill tight turns/U turns can be handled in the 3rd gear with ease.
          8. Chain hitting some part of the swingarm is an irritant. Hope to get this fixed at the first service.
          9. Fuel consumption was around 40 km/lit. This included highway run, a run through village and traffic jam and also the Amby Valley ghat section (up and down).
          10. Overall, the Duke is a sure shot formula for fun during weekends.

Attaching a pic taken by Ritwik from Inder's Cam. I'm sure Inder has a lot of pics to share and upload.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

I have finally got some riding gears for my duke ;-)...

I guess my option would be highly economic, affordable and of course with decent quality...

I have bought a Vega - Motocross helmet (Plain black) - Price 1750 (After discount 1250)

            Stickering (Custom - 8 stickers) - ~Rs.200

Alpinestar Gloves - Any Wther wear (Black - with knuckle guard) - Rs.700

Fast Track Riding Shades - Rs.900

            (Total - Rs. 3050 )

I have even considered a few jackets from Alpine star, Cramster which is around 5-6k ... with good quality quards and any weather wear... Would buy them if needed later on ;-) And also the rim stickering and shocks stickering I would do from the shop in "pudupet, chennai"... The rim stickering on both wheels both sides would cost me around just 100 - 150 bucks :P :P :P ... I can even get it designed as i need ... Cool ;-)

I guess this would be helpful for those in chennai who look for a good set of gears that would serve its purpose for "in city" riding ...

Helmet/ Gloves - from Rainbow lining and industries (Opposite to thousand lights mosque) - ph: 28290499; - They also have LS2, AGV, KBC, etc... And btw LS2 crown is available for 2.7K which looks good for KTM if you want a real branded one without customization... If you wanto customize, then go for a vega , black plain and do the stickering ...

Stickering - a lot of good shops are there in Pudupet, Chennai - I bought from this particular "SKM Sticker shop", expert - vicky, does the job with precision... just loved the stickering and his collection of images he had in his corel draw library... contact A.Ramar - 9444144772 - My stickers are actually available now in his system, those who want can go and take them

            Hope this helps ;-) ;-) ;-) ...
Nice Gears.. as Rishi said clear visor or clear glasses would be better during nights.. atleast one of them could have been clear..anyways as long as you are comfortable driving and safe, it's good..

Thanks for the Info Jyo.. SKM are the guys in Wellington Plaza ??

The KTM Jackets are good... they cost around 35k I guess .. I'll be checking out stuff in GP Road sometime this / next week Jyo.. will let u know what I find.. Have a friend who owns a shop there, he said he'll help me to find some decent stuff...

All in all for 3k u got some amazing stuff....

                    • Spares Cost

Just checked up on some Duke spare pricing (out of curiosity),
Front Wheel Rim - Rs. 3.3K (Approx)
Rear Wheel Rim - Rs. 4.5K (Approx)
                      Handlebar - Rs.747
                      Headlight Cowl : Rs. 548
Side Scoops : Rs. 800-900 Approx.

The guy at the counter told me the cost of the last item without checking, so I am not sure its 100% accurate. I guess he just wanted me to go away
