EDIT- sorry cudnt control on that one... get the head assembly checked, Some bolts out there might have loosened out which holds the head tightly in the main socket...

AND I still have tat "worm kinda noise" problem in the head of my Duke, its irritating sometimes, havent anyone noticed in their bikes??.. happens while moving downhill or during engine braking...

I get the noise too but at some particular rpms only...
Seems to come from the headlight assembly...

Like Eshan said, was planning to get it tightened during the first service.

Just try this, while in any gear except for 1st try to rev past 7500Rpm, if it cuts off like a rev limiter is supposed to then I'll buy you any power part you want :-D DEAL?

Smart boy! The point I'm trying to make is that there is a shift warning light at 7.5k RPM but it will not limit the Revs beyond that.

I have personally setup my Rpm1@6kRPM and my [email protected] but never went beyond that ...well maybe once or twice but it really doesn't make a difference

hmm..

i was just surfing over the internet for duke before buying it and i came across articles stating that it would be having a rev limiter at 7500 rpm.

Anyway.. it is good to find this fact from you..

btw joshzma225 how many kms have you completed on your Duke?

Yeah bro even I read that rev limiter article but when I took delivery they said it didn't have a limiter.

To answer your second question I'm at about 685kms now having got delivery on 6th march around 03:30pm :-D I had to lube my chain after like 12 days :-D do you know how to set your RPM 1 & RPM 2????

There is no rev cutoff, I tried it after completing 950 KM today.

U mean to say, U have ridden the bike all these days wihtout caring wat RPM u were at ??...& probably more than 7.5k many a times ?

Yes, there is no cut-off at 7.5k rpm, its just to scare the customers so that they dont rev it past the engine run-in rpm limit.

Thanks for the diagram spiralbrain ! But I was asking devil_rider if he knew how to set it so that I could help him with it if he didn't...he just got the bike & I had trouble setting up the shifter light when I first got it too :-)

@devil_rider where you from in Mumbai? We already have 3 guys with KTM in bandra and could use a fourth!!! ...for our weekend carter road + bandstand rides...
