Removed the Saree guard today, didn't want to remove the rear hugger but Refitted it at an higher angle above the Tyre. Tightened the allen bolt to the max and left the other bolts above the chain guard and swing arm at a height such that it holds the hugger rod from below. Did a short bumpy ride. No issues.

Well..Thats a heck of a way to checkout Duke :-)Originally posted by antz.bin View PostThey were probably just checking out the bike's looks. Dont worry about it. Tends to happen with new launches.
Well guys another thing I would like to bring to light.. My bike sound is completely changed. The issue i had discussed earlier is major.. That "Khass" sound like pulsar is still there.. And its in heights now.. ANyways I have clocked 850+ now and will be doing First Service soon. But If you guys say that its because of Engine oil.. Is it advisable for the new owners to advice their bikes to come with Motul straighaway??? I am just asking..
BTW there is nothing wrong with the performance of the bike. But when it sounds like that Its really not comfortable for me you know.Last edited by LoGun; 04-16-2012, 12:31 AM.LoGun

Hi , i have done the first service and have clocked around 1500 as of now. but recently i am noticing a burnt smell after rides( even after 20-30kms) at a moderate speed of 60-80.The temperature levels seems to be normal during normal. Does anyone know is it common for duke's

Do you see any oil on the outside of the engine ? anything that got stuck on the hot parts and smells when the bike heats up, maybe some plastic part.Originally posted by striban View PostHi , i have done the first service and have clocked around 1500 as of now. but recently i am noticing a burnt smell after rides( even after 20-30kms) at a moderate speed of 60-80.The temperature levels seems to be normal during normal. I think its more to do with the person riding the bike, I could beat 2 CBR250s at a signal drag race yesterday, felt on top of the world...No offense to those Ceebers but may b it ws my day...:POriginally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostThere are 2 things which matters the most in a drag race -
1. The Machine
2. The person who's driving that Machine.
So even if you are aware of CBR & Duke, You don't know whoz driving them. Wait for more reviews... But in any case, a couple of seconds here & there wont make a difference!
Unless you bought Duke just to beat the CBR :P

Yesterday while I was waiting to take a U turn at a gap in the median I saw two guys on a SBK (looked like a CBR600RR or CBR1000RR) stopped to have a look at the bike and my riding gears. So this bike attracts even the SBK riders. I felt as if I was on cloud nine

Bangalore Duke Owners --
Auto Service, Banashankari Bangalore is planning to conduct a DIY session at their premises in Banashankari 2nd stage on Saturday 21st April 2012. It will be not be a read-out of the pdf document print out. A few bikes will be lined up and you will have in-house mechanics (trained by KTM/Bajaj) demonstrate stuff. People having/reporting issues will also be attended to during the session. I am attaching a google doc spreadsheet, where those who are interested can enroll for the program. If the number is overwhelming, Auto Service will conduct more programs of similar nature over subsequent weekends. Please direct any questions to me. Thank you.
