Nice video review. Almost every review agrees on one thing..It is difficult to find negatives in this bike.

This is annoying at times.

I too am changing my way of riding, gradually. I've at least learnt to keep the revs up at very low speeds. Now, stalling issues occur less frequently.

Had asked about the parts but got no replies.I have got the price of following parts.Hope it helps. My duke is coming soon.
    plastic tank cover-1020/1500
    swingarm-6375
    handlebar-765
    mirrors-225
    tank-2600
you can add on to this list as and when yo get the prices of other parts.
List of parts replaced on my bike (with price and part no.)

On another note, I just came back from my 1st service. The odo reading was just 260 km, so, I decided to go with the standard Bajaj Dtsi 10000 oil and will change over to Motul 7100 at around 1200 km.

    Engine Oil Cost - Rs. 408.34 (1.4 L)
Oil filter Cost - Rs. 65.78

They lubed the chain using OKS chain lube. On asking, they said that they stock only OKS brand chain lube and Bajaj brand engine oil.

I faced a minor issue on my way back. I was in 6th gear (65 kmph approx.), I slowed down (engine braking) and on twisting the throttle again, the engine revved but the bike continued on its earlier momentum. Checked the console, gear indicator was blank. Tapped up for 6th, and things were back to normal. No other issues. Is this happening because of the oil?

Thanks for those prices Debashish!!! As for your gear shifting problem don't worry it not the oil its just the chain acting weird, must've been a fluke but I'm positive it won't happen again
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Well.. I am 6' 2 .. According to me, Ideally the Duke is desgined such a way that your knees rest behind the Bulk shape of the tank, but for my height it does foul .
But if you are talking about the comfortability.. There is absolutely no problem .. And there wont be any disadvantage this bike ll give you because you are tall..

And also, I had been to Lavasa yesterday morning.. And this bike was so good in handling. Obviously dint go to do cornering and all those stuff now as the bike is still in run in and am a rookie, ..but there was no point in the ride where I was uncomfortable with this bike.. IMPRESSED TRULY WITH DUKE.
Also noticed a LOT OF insane people on road trying to Discommode during the ride....All I can say is they are just Jealous looking at the Duke.Understandable... totally !!!

So even if you are aware of CBR & Duke, You don't know whoz driving them. Wait for more reviews... But in any case, a couple of seconds here & there wont make a difference!
Unless you bought Duke just to beat the CBR :P
Guys The rider on cbr is a very experienced guy and tat cbr is his own might be the duke owner be less experienced over his beast :-[

They were probably just checking out the bike's looks. Dont worry about it. Tends to happen with new launches.

                    • Hello everyone. I will be buying the Duke in India. I have read that in India, the duke as a rev limiter at 105000rpm. which limits the top speed at around 130km/hr

However, I am intending to export the duke where I am currently living. There is no law against rev limiter in where I am staying.

My question is, is it possible to ask the dealer to take away the limiter altogether.

If not, what other means do I have to take it out altogether.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

There is an ECU remap available which ups the limiter to 11.7k. This also bumps the peak power up to somewhere around 28bhp.

AFAIK there's no law regulating the use of a rev-limiter. It is the manufacturer's decision to use the rev-limiter to extend the life of the engine.
So, I am pretty sure the dealer can't do much about it.

The other option would be an aftermarket ECU remap, which would most certainly void the warranty.

                              • Anyone here know the cost of the rear mudguard? Since the aftermarket ones cost close to 5.5k (R&G tail tidy kits), I just wanted to know what the company charges for the OEM Rear Mudguard...
