Waiting for their inference on this one. I would request you to please show them the sound comparision of the newest duke and yours..(of course yours is also new,I didnt mean anything bad.. but what i meant was the duke which had clocked 500+ kms like urs)

Yeah You got it, Goodwill agencies. Contact the guy there to find out if its available in any other place. No idea when it will be available in the service stations, but we can always carry ours.Originally posted by NaveenRk View PostGoodwill agencies, Gopalapuram? , is it available in any other places near Adyar. Any idea when they are going make Motul 7100 available at the service stations itself.
Loosen the nut on the right side of the rear wheel with tools provided, then there is the adjusting nuts on both the end of the swing arms, adjust the nut and check the chain slack by rotating the wheel. Make sure that both the nuts are adjusted appropriately so that the wheel doesn't wobble. You can see the markings there. Finally once You are done tighten the nut on the right. You need padlock stand to do this.Originally posted by NaveenRk View PostGot to adjust the chain myself, I didn't watch them adjust the chain during delivery, finding it hard to follow the steps in the DIY presentation document shared few pages back. Any detailed illustration available anywhere for that.
Thanks

Whoa! If it happened with a normal jump, that wheel definitely was defective. The owner should be able to fight his way to warranty replacement.Originally posted by RdxGuru View PostKTM DUKE 200 Front MaG Wheel Cracked down @ a normal impact - YouTube

Motul 7100 20W50
The Motul 7100 20W50 is also recommended by KTM, for those who have attended the DIY session will know. The presentation by KTM clearly mentions either Bajaj's own or Motul 7100 are suited for the Duke 200.
I have completed 910Kms on my bike and it feels sluggish now. The engine noise has reduced considerably since 400-500 Km. Waiting for the first service in the next couple of days. I still haven't crossed 80Kph mark yet.
I have noticed the RPM warning light fails to light at times, has anyone else noticed this?

Does Bajaj make its own Engine oil..? I have noticed this too. I think this happens when you are accelerating fast in lower gears. I Guess the on board computer is not quick enough to light up the warning LED. By the time led should have come on, we would have changed gear, and it seems the warning light never came on. Just a guessOriginally posted by spiralbrain View PostI have noticed the RPM warning light fails to light at times, has anyone else noticed this?

First Post
Hi All,
My name is abhijit and this is my first post on XBHP.
This is the first time i am writing a non technical post (Non IT). So please forgive for any mistakes.
I have been regularly following this ownership thread. I first got my eyes of XBHP when saw the Review on Duke 200. And i was really surprised with the details covered in that review. At that point of time it was the most complete and best quality review on the net and now XBHP has a special place in my heart.
Now coming to the part where this post will relate to this thread.
I got my KTM DUKE 200 on 1st of April from KMarg. I wanted take it home on Ram Navami so took the delivery with Temp Registration no..
BTW i also have 2002 Pulsar 180 which is my proud possession.
So having the Temp No i was not able to take it on the highways so use to ride it in small congested roads. First thing i noticed on Duke was the acceleration. It was awesome. The Duke will always make u to ride it harder. The handling is terrific, you will not loose your balance while staying still for a moment in the traffic.
Last week i took my bike on the highway (didnt care about the Temp Reg no) as i could not resist riding it on open throttle. It was around 20 KMs ride, and i was very happy with the way it accelerated in the high gears. Never felt scared while overtaking the cars. Brakes found to be good. I was trying to keep the speed below 70 but most of the time i was not able feel that it was crossing 80. BTW my RPM2 was not set it was on 10500.
On the display i got FE-33 kmpl and 45 kmh avg-speed. When i came back to the parking lot i felt very happy.
Later on last Saturday i took the bike to vashi from Jogeshwari (again with the Temp Reg No) but this time it was in the day.
Got FE 45 kmpl.
I got the Reg no on Wednesday, till now my bike has clocked 160 on the speedo.
Now i will like to point out some issues:
1> Controlling the bike in traffic as slow speed (1-2 gears). Because the bike will decelerate fast if u let go the throttle even a bit. So i had to use the clutch too often.
2> Suspensions are too stiff: I think KTM didnt know the Indian Streets, if categorised indian roads will fall in low level OFF-ROAD. My pulsar is much smoother even after having ten years old suspensions.
3> Stalling at Turns: I stalled the engine couple of times while taking a sharp turn at very slow speed. I don't understand why.
I will post more things about duke as when i find them.

It is a software bug in the instrument console for sure. If this happens to the ECU it might forget the 10,500 RPM limit!Originally posted by sonu611 View PostI have noticed this too. First of all welcome to xBhp Abhijit.Originally posted by abhic View PostNow i will like to point out some issues:

1> You have to get used to this, it is called engine braking. Almost all superbikes have this. When you let go off the throttle, the momentum of the engine is maintained. After a while you will get used to this.
2> You can get the suspension adjusted at the KTM service station. It is adjustable, I fell it is stiff for me as I am not a heavy weight. I plan to get is done at the first service.
3> Stalling at turns is a known issue with fuel injected motorcycles as mentioned in the Overdrive review. It stalls while taking right U turns at low speeds. The way to get around is to keep the throttle up. Takes time to get used to this.
Also wait till the first service is over, till the first few thousand kilometers the engine is a bit tight. Things will improve once it sets in.
Hope this helps.

Yes you are absolutely right, it was the right turns when it get stall. Do you know the reason for "Why only at right turns???"

Must be a faulty right turn!Originally posted by abhic View PostThanks for the reply spiralbrain

Kidding!
Can you tell us what is the throttle position when turning? Fully off, blips? or slightly on to keep the revs a little high?

I've taken many right handed u-turns, never stalls. In fact, I don't think I have taken a single left handed u-turn, probably because I haven't met a road that needed a left u-turn yet.Originally posted by Shubz View PostMust be a faulty right turn!

I'm usually coasting in 2nd with the throttle closed and no clutch. if I slow down too much, i give a bit of throttle, if I need to stop to compensate for oncoming traffic, I downshift to 1st. All this is instinctive, I never had to pay attention.
The only time the bike stalls on me is at signals when I'm at low revs in second, and should really be in first. I've gotten used to the fact that the duke needs to be at the right rev range in the first 3 gears, pretty unforgiving in the low gears/revs, the slightest error and it just doesn't like it. Especially when there's a gap opening up in traffic, and I want to take it, I need to get the upshifts right for the first 3 gears to keep it going as quick as I want it to without jerks.Four strokes move my body, two strokes move my soul.

You are right, we wouldn't come across a left U turn unless we are riding on the wrong side of the lane.Originally posted by shrek View PostI've taken many right handed u-turns, never stalls. And also right about instinctive downshifting/maintaining revs.
Stalling at signals at low revs is again a characteristic of this high revving engine (my opinion)
