The throttle body of the duke is built to last so if it breaks or malfunctions its your fault not the company's. The fuel pumps break because of bad fuel, fuel bunk operator shoving the nozzle too deep into the tank and applying full fuel pressure and unnecessary repeated use of the engine kill switch per start. Its not a problem, people just don't know the proper procedure.

R15 is 17bhp and happens to have fairing weighing it down whereas duke 200 is a 25bhp naked. The diffrence is the same as a RE bullet and pulsar 220 respectivly. Duke is way powerful and too light. For a beginner I think if you must start with a powerful bike then start with r15 or even try apache rtr 180 ABS. Apache would suit you height and weight and it has ABS which is a plus.

3m also sells something called 'system g' ?? post a link to it please.
iftex system g - it is supposed to do what it claims to..and maybe it does. I know a person who has been using it on his duke 200 for a few months now and has not reported any issues, his claimed mileage in the city is around 36kmpl. I too picked up a bottle last month, and have only used it on my Dio (which has close to 50k km on it). I can only say that it hasn't caused any 'bad' things thus far. I am still hesitant to put it in my new d200 for certain reasons.
A lot of people have reported some positives especially on cars (i read about it on team-bhp.com)
Its gotten pretty expensive too @iftex system G , it was 360rs for a 200ml - and it is mostly sold at bharat petroleum bunks.

Ktm india doesnt have any such recommendations. But you can download the owners manual for the EU version from their site, and it does have some interesting 'auxiliary substances' .. fuel additive being one such thing.

Remember our fuel tanks are plastic so rust is not an issue. the 3m stuff seems to be a stronger chemical solution.. maybe for vehicles that have around 10-20k km mileage and it is recommended at 2000km intervals.. iftex system g on the other hand says its safe for continuous use.

Will the duke 200 be tough for me (a first timer ) to handle?? It will be my first bike (I've ridden only scooters till now and I haven't had any experience in bikes ) 😞😋

Not exactly. The duke handles well because of its light weight and happens to be pretty flickable. What you have to get used to is the massively powerful pull of the duke. Believe me it rides like a splendor but pulls like a supercharged RE bullet on NOS. So if you think you can handle it, keep a check on your right wrist. Then go for it.

                  Guys,
I recently purchased a well maintained Duke 200. Previous owner has maintained it very well and he currently owns a RC 390.
Previous owner claims that he has only used Speed 97(true),I used speed 97 initially for one tank fill and then changed to shell super.
Then i tried using Shell normal unleaded petrol. After using it for 20kms, all of a sudden it sputtered and stopped in the middle of the road. It started again and ran for another 5kms and stopped bang in the middle of traffic.
Tried starting it many times but it did not start. Towed it to the KTM service centre. They said fuel pump pressure was low and then changed Ignition coil and spark plug(took 2 days).
They also said there was some residue in the tank, which was also cleared.

so should i stick to only speed 97/shell super as this bike was running only on Speed 97 before or i can use the normal petrol??

One more issue i have is the low mileage. MID is showing 33-38kmpl most of the time, Once i tried to run it at a steady speed of 60-70kmph and the MID showed 43kmpl(highest i got so far)
I heard people getting close to 54kmpl in their MID. So what might be wrong with my bike?
Btw my duke runs on 46T sprocket(power part). Top speed is limited to 125kmph.

                  Sorry for the long post.

Mileage is fine with the sprocket setup.to acheive 54kmpl you woulb be running super slow and that will just take the fun out of it.
Regarding other problem, try different coco pump, might help.

Thanks. So mileage will increase with 42T sprocket? Not that I'm complaining but top speed cuts off at 125kmph.

The sprocket looks great, how much did you pay for the bike??
What was the mileage and any warranty left on the bike??

                            KIIRUS ECU REMAP:-
I'm looking to get the KIIRUS remap soon... I wanted to know if any of you here have used it for the Duke 200? All reviews I get online are for the 390... They released a v2.0 of the remap, and any advice would be appreciated

MID is indicative and not a true figure. Expect a true mileage of 30-35kmpl if you ride sane. Im sure you knw it all depends on how you clutch, brake & accelerate, tyre pressure, payload etc

Petrol type - well dont worry too much..tankfill from the good ones ( known good ones), the fact that dukes have a small tank range always has this problem on long rides. You have the money for a shell topup but there is no shell in the sight :banghead:

How much did you pay for the bike and sprocket?

ODO reading was around 11055km. 2012 model.I have PMed you the price. Previous owner has changed this sprocket along with 390 chain and also has fitted with BMC filter.

I have PMed the price. I did not pay anything extra for the sprocket. Pick up is just incredible.
I think the previous owner has imported it from somewhere as the power parts are not available here.
